• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Battery age

And you start your Spyder at " 0 " how often ?????????????....:roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack: :yikes: ...Mike..

Back in the 70's we were going to be in an iceage, now it's globel warming. So not to worry about CCA. The battery that you are using also has a two year warranty.

REASONABLE COMMON SENSE

Now there is a reason for this type of thinking...
You set yourself up for absolutely the worst conditions that you might EVER have to endure; that way everything else is just like beer 'n skittles!
That theory always worked great when practicing for pistol matches...
We'd go to the range in January; single digit temperatures with the snow and wind just howling and the guns were trying to freeze up and the sights would fog up...
It kind of made 70 degrees and calm clear days seem so very easy in comparison! :firstplace:
Bob, using that type of reasoning I suggest getting a trailer and loading it up with as many BATTERIES as it will safely carry..........................................or just get the DAM* MOTOBATT....and be done with it..:gaah: :gaah: :gaah: :agree: Mike

Mike it comes down to one thing Maintenance. If you do not maintain a battey I does not matter how great the battery it will fail. I feel that if I change my battery every 4 to 5 years with a EOM battery it's a good deal. How much more service time the other batteries give, maybe +7 or 8 years. A battery (EOM) that I have costs about $0.10 a day. So the top of the line battery costs twice as much or more. The cost for that battery is about $0.10 a day. I would like to have a new battery every 4 to 5. So the MOTOBATT may be cheaper per day and with star washers help keep it that way, Mike gave me that tech tip.

Mike, I have never ever, ever said or recommended NO MAINTENANCE....I don't care what kind of battery you have... and the Motobatt is less expense than the OEM ... IMHO for a better Battery....and I will not say another word about this subject........  :gaah: :gaah: :gaah:.....Mike

Go back your welder-wishing!! :lecturef_smilie:And be nice because Santa is watching... :roflblack:

So have Punkin' and BR1 been behaving well-enough that Santa's gonna bring them each a gift??

Bob, after getting a new ECM and throttle body, I have been riding BR1 a lot more than Punkin'. Perhaps I am paranoid, but I believe BR1 is running much better since these parts were replaced. I really think so...

BR1 said he will give Punkin' four quarts of Amsoil for Christmas...Punkin' uses Mobil 1 synthetic, has for 12 years and is very happy with it. These two seem to be getting along better as time goes by...Punkin' has quit kidding BR1 for being in the Spyder Hospital for six weeks...I think the holiday season is getting to both of them....

I could not care less how much the battery costs, lol.. If money was the issue I would not have bought the RT. Luckily I find the money to buy my farkles and I do not have to ask the misses if I may, lol...I have done enough research to know the new Shorai will serve me well and I will have the privalage of telling most others "I have one and you don't" lol. Being a bit more serious, my next purchase is all of the chrome accessories, about $1,700 +, I already have battery on the way.
