I never did this but I did spend many years 'Underneath Them' so to speak. Not these exact aircraft (looks like these are International) but similar.

Everything looks easy until it's your turn!

Being a ground pounder I was located where the red stuff meets the green stuff and turns it black (you too if you hang out too long in the wrong place!:yikes.

These guys have their hands full.... So did we.... I remember it fondly. It's all good! hyea:

I'm almost positive that the F111 is alive in well in Farnmouth? And when necessary, winning the hearts and minds of our adversaries over with high explosives.

Is the yellow plane a version of the Candian CL 15. I never flew in one, but did fly in the USAF SA 16 as a observer on search missions. Did not like water take offs or landings. You can se the crew fighting the controls.
My hats off to all the waterbomber crews. I could not do it.

Ron, that's a Canadian Catalina. There's a show on the History Channel called Ice Pilots. They had a segment on this bird just a month ago doing drops in Yellowknife. They fly DC3s, DC4s, C46, and an Electra among others, and the Catalina you have pictured. How would you like to be under a 747 doing slurry drops? I had the opportunity to fly right seat on B17Gs doing drops in new Mexico. Was a volunteer FF/EMT for 20 years.

I am not a plane guy but the I think the planes in the video are Bombardier 415's. The reason I say that is that they have turboprop engines. The ducks featured in the show ice pilots are Canadair CL 215's and they have piston engines.
