• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Bruce, are you excited?!!

Hi Deb. I sure am excited, and thanks for thinking of me. I've been counting the number of sleeps! My dealer sent me a few pics of "Red October" while it was being PDI'd yesterday. Here they are:

You will notice the Givi bags are black. This is temporary until Givi completes their colour matching process for the red. Once that is done, Thibault Importations will be providing new lids with matching red panels.

I will post again after I bring the new machine home.

Cheers,

Bruce

Hey Bruce!!! :2thumbs: Looks great!! Congrats!!! :congrats:
I'll enjoy a couple of Sam Adams Octoberfest's in your honor this evening!

Bruce,
It looks fantastic!!! Enjoy it and ride safe.

Nudle, he tried out my spyder with the Hindle and like bjt he prefers the quite ride of the stock.

:congrats: I think that GIVI setup will look really nice with the matching red panels.

Thanks Greg! I had the chance to try Sam Adams Octoberfest when we went to Gatlinburg. Very nice brew!

Hey nudle and bjt, thank you. Yes, I had considered buying bjt's Hindle, but when I road dltang's Spyder, I just found it too loud. I love the way all the aftermarket pipes sound from a distance, but when I'm sitting right on top of them, not so much. My Kawasaki Concours was a pretty quiet bike, as was my BMW R100RS before it, so I think I have grown accustomed to a quieter exhaust note.
And yes, although the black Givi bags look just fine, I do believe the red panels will really set them off. :2thumbs:
Starting to count the hours now...

Your red Spyder is beeaauuutiful! I love the look of the Givi set-up - even with the black panels. If I love mine as much as I hope once I get it, I plan to set it up for touring, too. Have Givi's on my Moto Guzzi and that set-up worked great for me. (Although since I'm not known as a light packer, had to add an Ortlieb dry bag on the back seat to hold all my extra jackets, etc.:opps:)

Hope your weather is nice for you up there when you pick it up - we're enjoying sunny, warm weather here (84 degrees) and lovin' it.

Thank you Jane. Yep, sunny and mild here as well and forecast to stay that way all weekend.
I tend to pack everything but the kitchen sink too, so we'll see how the luggage space works out. :D

Bruce,

Well it's about time. You might as well schedule your first 600 mile service for next weekend. Cause I know you will probably have at least that many miles on it by then, as long as you have been waiting. It's fun to write and read about one on order but, nothing like the feeling of owning a spyder.

Thanks everyone for your support and encouragement. It was a great day. We stayed in a hotel last night, and my son drove our car home today while Gail and I rode "Red October". He slabbed it, and we took the back roads. It was awesome. Fall colours, blue sky, beautiful temperature. It was a 325 kilometre ride, so a good start to the break-in process.

Here we are at the dealership just about to take off:

I can't say enough good things about the Spyder. It is absolutely a beautiful machine, and a joy to ride.

Cheers,

Bruce
