Winter Storage - stabilizer question

Hello everyone. I am interested in adding Sta-bil stabilizer to the gas tank of my RS to store it for the winter. Have two questions:

1. Has anyone ever used this product?
2. How many ounces do I add to the full tank of the RS model?

I been using it for years,
1 and 1/4 ounce to 6 gal approx, [the Spyders full tank is 6 gal.]
Overdosing won't harm!

I use Stabil and Marine Stabil all the time. It works well. The proper dose for storage is 0.5 oz per gallon, but it isn't super critical as long as you get reasonably close. The instructions are on the lable. Best to add it just before you fill or top off the gas tank, to get good mixing. It will then fill the whole system on the ride home. If that is impossible, run the vehicle a few minutes after adding the Stabil, to get it distributed through the entire system.

We put Stabil in all of our powersports. Even if we end up riding it in the winter I just top it off again.

I've just switched to the STABIL for ethanol. I've had some problems with fuel with ethanol so that's all I use now. I think the label says 1 oz per 5 gallons for winter storage. It's more expensive to buy than the regular "red" stabil, but I haven't had any problems in any of my cycles, jet skies, boats or ATVS since I've used it.

I've used Sta-Bil for years, but am considering giving that Sea Foam stuff a try... Is there any practical difference between the 2 of them? With the current state of fuels; I'm guessing that the products designed for use with ethanol are the only ones to consider dumping into the tank...

Sea Foam has a little more Kerosene in it than the Sta- Bil red formula, Hard to say which works better.
But they both do the job.

I use Stabil marine formula exclusively. I started using it instead of the standard red formula on the advice I got from a snowmobile magazine. The marine formula has more of the important ingredients than the red kind. On the surface the marine type looks like it costs twice as much as the red, but you use half as much per treatment so the cost is about the same.

Now that they have a type for ethanol gas, I may start using that.

One other thing, this stuff does have a shelf life, so if you have a bottle thats been around a couple of years or more you might want to replace it.
