• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Larger tires

I have seen some really nice spyders with larger tires/rims. My question is do these tires affect the handling of the spyder in a negative or positive way other than the look?

They will affect the handling characteristics. The wrong combination may also adversely VSS, causing limp mode. As to good or bad in the handling department, that is pretty much in the eye of the beholder. As a new rider, I suggest you ride a while, and wear out a set of OEM tires first, before deciding you need something different. The Spyder VSS is designed and calibrated around the OEM tires. That is not saying that others won't work, but you still lack the experience to respond to any changes they bring, and the VSS may not save your butt as readily. JMHO

Not for me...

Thank you Scotty for the info and advice. The large tires are not for me. I love the look of my spyder as is. The only mods I see in my future is a cup holder, floorboards, highway pegs, 12v plug, and something to hold my phone. I also plan to get a helmet system for sound but I guess that isn't actually a mod to the spyder. The larger tires are like a pretty girl to me, nice to look at but I already have the woman I want. ;)
