Does anybody remember where I can find some info about this? I think that there might have been a TSB issued...
Thanks!

I have been using Plumber's Grease. It is synthetic and has reduced the squeal considerably. I just apply a thin coating (now and then) between a few teeth on the rear sprocket...like you do when applying a salve on yourself.
Isn't belt dressing sticky?
I have absolutely no idea of the dynamics of a cogged belt and I'm not saying belt dressing is a good or bad idea because I haven't a clue.
But a cogged belt as is on the Spyder isn't at all similar to a V belt is it?
If you don't have the noise, don't worry about it. Worse with the 2012s, for whatever reason. When does the belt start making this sound? Does this apply to '10's 11'or 12 model years? Does the age or miles on the spyder have anything to do with it? My 2010 rt-s sm5 doesn't do it yet. 13`000 miled so far. Did brp change suppliers for the belts maybe?
Cogged belts can squeal. They can do so when the outsides rub against the sprocket flanges, or even when the ribs rub as they engage and disengage the sprocket cogs. While most don't, certain combinations of belt composition and hardness, and certain sprocket designs can result in squealing cogged belts. BTW, they can also whistle quite loudly.I'm not understanding this issue. I have a 2012 Limited and don't have squeeling. Squeeling of belts occurs when the belt slips on the pully. Belt dressing helps it grip. It doesn't taken a brain surgeon to realize cogged belts do not squeel. If they do, you have bigger problems.
