• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Greasing the Belt...

I'm curious about this. I have a noise like a howl. Seems to happen most in the 35 to 45 mph range. Sounds a lot like the noise from straight cut gears. Applying the brakes does not affect it. I wonder if it's the belt since all else seems fine and I'm at 11K miles. Maybe I'll try that grease. The automatic belt tensioner might help too. It all seems like guessing tho.
Probably belt. That's common with Gilmer belts.

Question: Is the source of the noises from the teeth engaging and disengaging the sprocket, or could there be some interplay from the belt vibrating out in the open breezes that adds to it? :dontknow:

My 2012 RT belt squealed from day 1. I brought it to the dealer and it was good for a few days then started again. Brought it back again and thats when he told me that BRP changed the tension specs for the dealers when they set up an RT because of failures in the bearings. So the only solution is a small amount of grease every now and then.
