Had a great weekend planned...planned a few months ago...annual Valkyrie ride to Texas Hill Country...no one was stepping up to lead rides...so I decided to do a ride...planned the route...a meandering trail through the hill country...with stops in Luckenbach...Garrison Bros Bourbon Distillery...Johnson City..and finish up with Willow City Loop.....(Mark will now lead the ride)set up Friday night dinner at Alamo Springs Cafe ...next door is a bat cave....so eat and walk over at dusk and watch the bats....and what happens to bum me out...was checking out the Spyder today....went to town...came home...checked oil...all is good...then what is that puddle under my bike?....coolant tank is leaking from the bottom....no dealers in Houston area have the part...they said maybe next week or early the following week....unexceptable...called Cowtown...they are out...expecting delivery thur or fri....will have one 1st of the week.....we don't have a 2-up bike....so Mark will ride his Valkyrie and I'll drive my little car...bummed..lower lip sticking out

So sad. NOT!!!! It would be a hard coice between that sweet thing and the Spyder. Hey, how about riding the Dragon in that!!!

That really is a bummer. I checked with my local dealer and they don't have one in stock. Remember to replace the cap also. Mine went bad and caused the tank to split (too much pressure). Maybe someone will be able to help you out.
If you can't ryde, make lemonade.

I was reading your thread and started to feel real bad about your Spyder and HG only having room for one and then I saw a picture of your car and I thought "what a whiner" Are you kidding me............I still feel bad for you but that car takes a little of the sting out, don't ya think?
Enjoy the Ryde.

Aren't you ascared to drive something that small, Doesn't seem very safe!:joke:

y'all don't understand...the car is cool...but no way does it even come close to riding the Spyder

Charlene, it could always be worse. At least you're in TX. and have better ryding weather than the rest of us do. We're doing our annual ryde to Branson, MO. to start our initial planning of SpyderFest 2013 in the morning. Our forecast is nothing but rain and storms for the entire time that we'll be in the Ozarks and 60° temps at best. PM your phone to me and I'll send you and Mark pics of the weekend event.

Are you sure its not a clamp that needs tightened? I read on other threads that this has been happening.

currin20fan...it's not a clamp....we pulled all the panels off the coolant tank is leaking...on the bottom...nothing else is wet

Sorry to hear about the problem with the coolant tank. The alternative is not to bad in this case though.

 Epoxy and duct tape!
I thought about that.... but would need to make the tank an 'overflow tank', and not a pressured tank... it could still happen! A new tank is ordered and on the way..... if it fails in the future... changes will be made.:2thumbs:

maybe some hotglue.... LOL
