• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thought this was a Spyder from a distance...wrong..

I rode over Trailridge road in Rocky Mountain National Park to Grand Lake this past Saturday. I parked and wandered along the lake shore for awhile and when I got back to my vehicle, some guy was quizzing me about the Spyder. "What is that engine, a 250? 350?" I had a flashback to this thread... "um no, it's about 1000cc"

Sparks, Thanks for this video; I think that I might even be able to offer up an intelligent comment now... :yikes:
Glad to see that they have a working reverse...
Their turnsignals were just about impossible for me to pick out. :gaah:
What was all of that blasted beeping? A turnsignal indicator??
Unless it was just poor camera utilization; the suspensions really need some sorting out. The look as if they ride about like an empty lumberwagon driven over a pile of rocks!
But... in a suburban, low-speed environment; they might just fit the bill!

The videos and pictures really do not do any justice to just how cheaply built things things look in person. Up close they really do look like a cheap Chinese knockoff POS. A least our Tupperware looks durable. The plastic on these things looks like they'll crack in the gust of wind left in the wake of a semi.

You do get what you pay for; right?

Sometimes,;
But then not every one can afford a 30 thousand dollar ride, So they do serve a purpose.!
Just like Walmart does, Not every one can afford to shop at Lord and Taylor!

Being Smug about a different Inexpensive ride is not a endearing trait.

I don't shop at Walmart. Not because I can afford to go elsewhere. I just hate Walmart. It's the crowds and the people that make up the crowds. And the fact that only ever about 4 out of 30 registers are ever open. why do they even have those other registers if they never use them?

at least they got the mirrors out of your hands way

See guys? I ot the only one!

Do Taurus riders do the same to us as we to riders of these machines.
Really, guys, lest we forget, we had great times on our 250's didn't we.
I remember when the Honda Dream 250 SS came on the market back in England when I was riding a Tiger 90 350 cc.
"Piece of cheap Japanese junk" folk were saying. My dad was pathologocally opposed to anything Japanese and he almost had a coronary when I rolled up on a brand new one. He couldn't stand the sight of it until one day when his Ariel square four quit running for need of new plugs and the only thing available was my Honda.
"Bloody gear change is on the wrong side....where the hell is the kick starter."
The little spark plug store was only about ten minutes away but dad came back after an hour with a huge smile on his face. Thereafter, I had to hide the key.
The riders of the new machines are just as enthusiastic as we are and will still get a wave.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not knocking the rider, or their choice in machine, and they'll still get a wave. I am however knocking what appears to be the poor quality of, at minimum, the body paneling. The machine is cheap (by comparison) and it looks it.

I can tell you from experience that the plastics are very brittle, and the screws/bolts strip very easily. I owned a Roketa 150cc scooter for about a year, and although I loved it, you have to do a lot of work initially to make it semi reliable. The guys @ Scootdawg have a list of what you need to do when you get your NEW scooter: Replace all fuel tubing, and the fuel filter, replace spark plug with an NGK, check all electrical connections, make sure the ground is tight and making metal to metal contact, replace main fuse holder, check/replace tire valve stems, remove all bolts/screws that are metal to metal, and Locktite them, and check valves. On the Spyder clone, you do all this plus you have to deal with the front end alignment. Very bad things happen on the clone when the front is out of alignment. I will say that once you do everything, they are pretty reliable. It's just that a lot of the parts are rubbish. Take the valve stems. Both of mine were dry rotted after 3 months. The fuel tubing is the same way, except it starts to dissolve and gums up the carb. BUT, I paid $400 for a 150cc scoot vs. $2300 for a 150cc Yamaha/Kymco. I hated to sell it actually, but sold it and my Boulevard C50 to buy the Spyder, which I love even more. :)

Here's something that I found over there...

I am glad I invested $4450.00 instead of 20K+ for a Can-am . I have read about the problems with their steering locking up and people getting killed. I suggest you Google can-am problems. You will find allot of links about their problems and their refusal to wariness them. If you look at their video, the machines are going slow. I haven't seen any of them up in the 60 - 70 MPG range.

I didn't realize that we were all such daredevils ... :roflblack:
