• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spark plugs

Haven't had the Spyder long (1 month) but pulled the rear plug to look at it when I did the 600 mile service. I put copper anti-sieze on the plug thread just as I have done with the 30 other 2 wheelers I have had over the years.

Have I done wrong????
 
So is it di-electric grease on the thread and heat sink goop in the boot, or the other way around??? :yikes: :roflblack:

Heat sink paste sparingly on the spark plug threads. Dielectric grease (boot release) sparingly inside the spark plug boot.
 
DI-ELECTRIC GREASE

:agree: Even without the arcing, the dielectric grease serves as boot release, and makes getting the plug wires off next time much easier.....on both the technician and the wires.

Scotty, considering the temps at the plug/boot......the D-E grease does not totally liquify and run out.?????.....Mike

You just put a thin coating inside the boot...not a glob. I use a Q-tip to apply it. I have never seen dielectric grease melt, though. It is not petroleum, it is silicone.
