• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anyone noticed...

1) After several weeks, how natural it is to shift at 4500-5500 now?

and

2) How chilly it seems when the temperature drops below 80 degrees? :yikes:

Right on about the shifting.

You want Chilly--its 50, windy, and rainy here today. We have hit 70 about 3 times in the last month.

U have been reading this forum for several weeks and yes i know how you feel. I shift between 4500 and 6000 rpms and i have no vibration whatsoever in my spyder. It drives and rides as smooth as a car. Its a great feeling after reading some of the posts and the spyders vibrating at low rpms. I love my spyder and just wish it would quit raining where i could go stretch her legs.

Same for me. It took a couple of weeks to get used to, but natural now. The engine just purrs at the higher rpm.

It finally cooled off in Kansas. 90 feels good!

I am stilll finding my sweet spot. When I hit it the Spyder shifts smoothly, but I can't hit every time. All in all we love riding and have a great time!!!

You might have been riding your Spyder for some time (as some of the others that have posted on this thread); but it never hurts to review a few of the basics of riding.

Here is a thread I started a few weeks ago or so about the "Do's and Do Not's".

You'll see one of them provides suggestions for shift-points -- although they are all mostly at the same RPM. Eventually you'll be able to translate that to your speedometer and shift and different speeds. It will come natural... and your Spyder will perform so much better.

Also, if you have a SE5 (paddle-shift model), be sure to NOT roll-off the throttle... but rather make a smooth push on it (not abrupt) and hold it until it shifts. Most all of the time it will shift as smooth as silk.
