• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New bike has 700 miles on it. Needs oil change and software update but cant get in shop still 300,000 people without electricity.

It sounds as if you've got the best reason in the World to go for a ride; the bike can't get serviced!
It won't hurt it if you go beyond that 600 mile checkpoint for the first service... A lot of folks go to 1000 miles and I stretched mine to 1100...
I hope that they get your power grid back up and running soon!

:agree: If you can afford the time, I would make a travel to a dealer that can do it... Cowtown!!! (Can you say ROADTRIP?!?!;))

With new spring sales and spring service on jet skis, etc., my dealer couldn't get me in at 600. I actually went back to my old motorcycle (which I was in the process of trying to sell) and rode that. Ended up taking in my Spyder RT-S at 710 miles. Dealer said as long as under 1,000 miles, not a big deal.

Nancy's Spyder went 1,000 with the dealer's blessing when they ran out of oil filters. It is a target, not a deadline.

Had 1600 on mine before I could get it in for first service. Cowtown told me it was not a problem. Seems like if you get a good one it is tough as nails. Love ryding (although they gotta work on the AC on these things with this heat wave).

agree - I was told by my dealer that the 600 mile thing was more of a goalpost than a "dead stop" point and to make sure I had at LEAST 600 miles but not to cancel any riding plans after 601 miles - just make the plans to make the appointment.
