• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Usually, what happens on the road, stays on the road. This is such a great experience, it has to be shared.

To make a long story short, at 8:30 Friday night, found out the front spark plug wire was arcing. The plan was to be at Fun Central (?) at O'dark thirty the next morning, hoping they had plug wires in stock. Reservations were made for another night at the hotel and phoned Hubby with the news I'd be in a day or two late.

Around 10:00 FireFly gets back to the parking lot, learns of the issue and mildly says "Oh, I have a pair of those, which size do you need?" Spydee gets parked in a spot somewhat lighted area, the tools come out and the work begins.

From left to right: SpyderPops, FireFly, DocDuru, and NancysToy.

Want to thank Mike for finding the rear plug wire sparking and that my gas cap was funky,

Doc and Forrest for riding me around when Spydee was down (Apple Martinis are tasty!),

SpyderPops for discovering the front plug wire was arcing,

FireFly for having spare plug wires and diving into Spydee guts,

NancysToy for getting into the other side of the innards,

(Couldn't get a better team of mechs working on Spydee and she's running like a champ now!)

And the whole parking lot gang for keeping my spirits up when times were rough.

I owe everyone big time! Y'all are the BEST!:bowdown::firstplace:

Thats the stuff this site is made of.

Can we talk a little more indepth about the Apple Martinis ???????

That solidifies the statement that we have told newbies so many times---------GREAT GROUP OF PEOPLE ON THIS FORUM:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown: Glad everything turned out OK.:clap:

When you're with SpyderLovers, you're with family!

Have had Apple Martins before and they tasted like corn syrup and artificial flavoring.

These Apple Martinis tasted like the vodka/gin had soaked with a specific Washington apple and it was infused with the apple flavor. They were light with the taste of a red apple. Yummm...

I would have jumped in there but the thought "too many cooks" kept popping in my mind. ;)

HotGlue said the same exact thing about "too many cooks." Understand totally. It was comforting that so many great mechs were there until Spydee fired up.

Glad I didn't make youtube too! :yikes:

I'm so new to the Spyder, but this account really tells of how this Forum's members are serious about being a real Brotherhood/Sisterhood of Spyder Lovers.
I can't wait till I can join in on the comradely at some of the functions!

I kept looking at the growing number of people working on her in that parking and hoped that the combined wisdom and Dan's spark plug wire was gonna fix her problems. Especially when earlier that day Harvey had told you to turn her off at red lights so the fumes wouldn't ignite.:yikes:

Turns out they did it! I'm so glad you haven't had any problems since then.

Things like this confirm what a great site this is and the many people who make it that way. :2thumbs::2thumbs:

There are so many people on this board who are the genuine article! :doorag:

Got home yesterday on schedule. Hubby was very happy about that! He sends a heartfelt Thank You to all who helped me through this drama.

Have Y'all's number in my phone now...

Holey Moley!!! That was a scary ride from Harvey's place to the parking lot. Did you notice I hit all green lights and didn't let the construction slow me down? :yikes:

With the people working on Spydee, along with the other people there, I knew Spydee was in the best of hands. :firstplace:

Yazz, it was great to meet you in person. Glad you were able to get set right. Hope to make it to SpyderFest next April and meet up with you and the gang again.
