• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Why do people have to become snobs about one brand or another???? I don't care what you ride just ride! When I rode a Honda, Harley Riders would rarely wave, when I rode a Harley the macho Harley Riders wouldn't wave because a woman shouldn't be riding the same bike they are....Now I am seeing the same with some of the Spyder Ryders where they don't want 2 wheelers in their groups. My hubby happens to ride a 2 wheeler and will until he can't walk any longer probably but he does more for my Spyder than I do and loves it as much as I do. The New York Spyder Ryders were wonderful when we showed up and never made him feel unwelcome and we have ridden with the Ohio Spyder Ryders and they are welcoming as well. We met a couple at a car show here in Tennessee Saturday and they wanted to ride with a group of Spyders they had met but they didn't want them because the husband rode a Harley and she rides an RT.

Sorry it makes me angry because we are all out there enjoying a sport and should just enjoy the Brother/Sisterhood and forget the brand. OK I am stepping down off of my soapbox now...

You see that with all groups unfortunately... I've been in different car groups of quite some time, and couldn't stand their attitudes. The only one I seemd to fit in with, and felt welcome in was the one group I didn't belong in... They all owned Porsches...

Thanks for the NY compliment Barbwire. We all had a wonderful time and I would not think twice about riding with a 2 wheeler as I almost road mine that day. Say hi to Fencepost for me. See you next year.

the spyder folks around here usually have a HD or GW amongst them. not an issue.

we apparently learned to talk slower, accelerate less aggressivly for them, and leave extra time for backing, slow maneuvers, etc :roflblack:

Our group rides with other bikes, I would rather that the loud piped bikes be in the back though, not sure if that is discrimination or if I just like hearing the radio.

I don't ride in groups very often but when I do I ride with the same group I rode my BMW with. The last ride we took, there were 4 BMW's, 2 Suzukis, 2 Hondas, and my RT. My gosh, diversity is the best thing about motorcycling. When I get particular about who I ride with or who I wave at I hope somebody just shoots me. It is very rare that I meet a 2 wheeler that doesn't wave back at me.

Thank you Barbwire for the OSR compliment. You and Fence Post are always welcome to ride with us anytime. It's all about the ride and great friends!

I have been fortunate to not run into the types of snobs you mention. I have rode with two different groups in Alaska and both were welcoming to all brands of motorcycles--as long as they were able to ride at highway speeds. Sorry mopeds.

I was on two wheels when I joined the first group, but when I got my :spyder2: it made no difference whatsoever.

We begin riding with the Anchorage GWRA group this year and were welcomed by everyone although the group was mostly Gold Wings. There has also been a HD or two, and now they have added two :spyder2:'s to the pack.

Those who are too good to ride with certain makes of motorcycle--well--I guess that can be their problem. I will stay away from them.

I've been fortunate also, never had a problem with the different groups I've ridden with. Like akspyderman said if they don't like it its their problem. Dale

I really don't care what other riders think of my ride. I wave at them all. I am sorry if all they have is a just a Harley. Maybe one day they can get a Spyder.

Honestly, I don't care what you ride, the open air is the open air.

I have developed a group of motorcycles, from Harley to Sport Bikes that I meet up on HOV for the ride to work. There is about 10 of us, we have never spoked, but we all fall into line and ride together. The last couple time the Harley leader has been letting me take the lead, I use hand signals LOL. They waved me into the group one morning and now it just seems normal. It shouldn't matter how many wheels you are on.

Don't let small minded people control you, find a group that welcomes everyone, it is more enjoyable that way.

"Brand Myopia" :gaah: (Mine's great and yours is crap!)
Works for bikes, cars, trucks, Sports teams, fuel octane levels; you name it, and everybody WILL have an opinion about what is best...
It's the World oin which we live and the nature of the Beast... it'll never change!

Huh?

Wow I have never experienced that attitude...but I ryde because I love to ryde..and truly have no expectations on how another is to respond/react to me or what I ryde..:dontknow:...I wave and ask God to bless every biker I see..every moment is the only moment I have and wow no wasting that moment fussing about how another behaves..I have my boundaries and know how to handle me if same get "abused"...Ahhh I just really luv luv luv ryding and today is the day to do that!!:yes:
