• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

First if your going to rent a U Haul trailer make sure the Spyder will fit, [through the opening]'
I don't think they have any that the Spyder will fit though?

Even if it fits (which is dubtful), they may not allow it. They don't like vehicles in enclosed trailers or trucks due to the fuel.

It's the width that will get you. The GS is 60" wide. Most enclosed trailers' openings are less than that.

Will not fit

I was gonna do the same, rent an enclosed Uhaul trailer. So, I just so happen to know a guy that owns a place that rents uhauls. But he informed me that none of the enclosed
trailers has an opening big enough to drive my rs into. They do have a car trailer that would work. Not the car dolley but an actual trailer. And the owners manual gives the correct location to use the tie downs.

U-Haul DOES NOT have a trailer suitable. Nor does Penske. A local commercial equipment rental company might since many lawn care services need a trailer capable of transporting several large commercial mowers. Locally, a company would have rented a suitable trailer for $47 per 24 hour period.

Fortunately, a member of my church had a 6 ft wide X 10 ft trailer that was perfect. SEE SOME PICTURES HERE OF MY EFFORTS.

A 5 foot wide trailer WILL NOT work. I know you want an enclosed trailer but with good weather, this worked out great for a 5:30 hour drive. Even the owner's manual says FLAT BED trailer. The risk is spilled fuel or fumes igniting. You can lie to a commercial rental company about your intended use of their enclosed trailer, but you assume liability (even with insurance) if you lie on application and it is discovered.

I did not take pictures of how the dealership tied down my Spyder, but out of the owner's manual you have this information.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The dealership placed a block of wood under the trailer front-end jack and jacked up the front of the trailer (while it was attached to my vehicle) to reduce the angle of the trailer ramp so it was not so steep. They (and me) were afraid the nose of my Spyder would "bottom out" and scrap against the ramp when the Spyder was driven up on the trailer. They also (to be extra careful) had me drive the trailer off their asphalt drive into adjacent gravel storage area. They did this to drop the trailer height another few inches. When we lowered the loading ramp, the ramp itself was on the asphalt. Every inch counted to make sure the angle of the loading ramp did not damage my front-end. The trick was when I got it home, could I duplicate what they had done? YES. The church next door had a combination asphalt and gravel parking lot. I just duplicated the dealership's efforts when I got home and got my new Spyder off-loaded with no scratches.

The smallest trailer that UHaul has that fits a Spyder is an open 2 axle, biggest reason is the width of the tailgate. There are tie down points that fit, but you'll need ramps to load/unload, and where I live, the UHaul shop will only rent them locally.
A 6 by 10 landscape trailer is probably the cheapest option, the Spyder won't get any dirtier on it than it would from being ridden.

They must have a different car hauler trailer then the ones available through the local U-Haul dealer (not one of those little guys, but the location with HUGE operation and everything in stock).

The car haulers have an open bed, meaning the front 2 wheels would fit just fine, but that pesky center rear tire has no place to go. When you get into the really HUGE trailer with flatbed, most casual users would not have an adequate vehicle to attach it to and to operate safely.

Fortunately, instead of everyone guessing what U-Haul has available and who they will rent it to, their interactive website allows you to specify your needs and the type of vehicle it will be connecting to ---- and unless they say OKAY on their website, the dealer will not rent to you, even if they have the vehicle available. You can go to UHAUL's website from HERE

Seriously, there are commercial equipment rental companies (hoists, forklifts, etc.) that carry the 6' x 10' trailer. Sunbelt Equipment has a location locally but they are in many locations. Locations can be found HERE

AND WOW IMFARMER94, I POST THE ACTUAL PAGES FROM THE MANUAL AND YOU TELL HIM THE MANUAL WILL TELL HIM HOW TO CONNECT. YOU ARE CORRECT, BUT HE COULD ALSO LOOK 2 POSTS UP. LOL
