• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. I wash just like a car. I get the whole thing wet. Just no high pressure spray in the openings.

I use car wash detergent because it is clear coat friendly. I would suggest you use a low pressure nozzle to rinse the Spyder and don't go crazy with the water around the dash area. That being said I have never had an issue with water seeping into the gauge area and I have been through many a torrential rain storm. I still tend to baby that area though.

Watch the spray around the hand controls, too. The Spyder doesn't like high pressure spray...or much water either, for that matter. Wash gently and carefully, holding the hose at a respectable distance, and you'll be fine.

Yes, Just be careful that you don't spray the hose directly into the dash.
:agree: Don't forget to be careful about the air intakes also!

I agree with what's been said and would only add the reminder that Spyders are meant to be ridden in any weather, including rain. While high pressure water is never a good idea, simple washing can be accomplished as described above. Car wash detergent is far better than others as it won't remove wax.

No water on mine

I've been using a line of products from MotoOz, a local company in my area. They market the products for the Harley riders, but they are safe for our :spyder2:. A lot cheaper than Plexus and safe for everything including the windshields. Might want to check them out, they'll ship anywhere. http://www.motoozcycles.com/store/index.html

do your self a favor and get some Honda spray you will love this stuff your local Honda dealer will have it

I have owned :f_spider:'s for 2 years and other than rain my GS now RTS have never seen water. I use Lucas Slick Mist and microfiber cloths and they have always looked like they just came off the showroom floor. Usually do the clean up 2 times a week takes 15 mins at most.

I also don't use water...I only use Meguiars Ultimate products on my Spyder!

honda spray is by far the best cleaner for the bike..you can use it on everything...windshield,,tupperware,,muffler (after it is cool of course)...seats but if you have hand painted pin stripping it is not recommended because it is petroleum based and will dull the paint...you sacrifice the super shine to save the hand painting...
