I am interested on the LED lighting. With the Custom Dynamics fender tip lighting, do you need to buy the kit @ $69.95 or do you just replace the bulbs at $12.95. I am also looking at the fender strips and find them at several locations for different pricing. What is being used out there and what drove your choice of vendors?

You need the kit, Or you'll set off codes.

If your really serious about lighting, check out www.Tricled.com, they are a supporting vendor on our site, and Reggy is the best, for help on any question you have about lighting. Their replacement finder tip LED's are the best I've have found.

I have replaced the fender light bulbs with LED 5 watt lights, no problem.

I also replaced the fender tip lights with LED's a year ago, still have not had a fault code.

I replaced mine with led's and have not had any problems with codes. I have different color bulbs so I can change them anytime. They are available at auto parts stores. Look for T10 bulbs.

So,,,,I just recieved my LED fender tip lights from Kewl Metal, now I find out I have to buy a" kit "also? So I should have bought the "kit" first and not just the lights only?? :dontknow: :dontknow:.

I Agree here. Don't bother with led bulbs from pep boys or similar. They won't last.

You can buy replacement Fender Tip bulbs on eBay for just a few bucks, either white or amber. Not necessary to change the fixture and it doesnt cause any codes. Some of the eBay bulbs seem to fail soon, but at this price I just buy a whole bunch of them!
