I picked up the Spyder on Friday, as it had been in "winter storage" at Palmer's since mid-December.
Yea, I know, what winter, well at least it was in a nice warm area with a tender on the battery.
The rear tire(12,9969 mi) was lacking the required tread to pass inspection, so..... I rode home, removed the rear tire, and waited till Saturday morning to take it back and have a new tire mounted. Sometime last year I had ordered a set(3) of Sumitomo HTR 200 tires for the Spyder, as I knew the rear would need changing before starting a new year. By the way , the front tires(originals) are in great shape and should last till 25-30,000 miles. I had had a slight issue with uneven tire wear, but caught it early and made a correcting "toe" adjustment.
So, new tire mounted, 3oz. of dyna-beads added and back home I go.
This morning I reinstalled the tire, checked belt alignment and tension. The Krikit II showed 180-190, so I believe I'm ready for a new year, pending an inspection next Saturday.
Ride safe all,
