Def not taking it as rude, im here for the help! And what video would you be referring to Dtryke? Would like to take a look at it to ensure I didnt miss anything.
I am not trying to question your work here or anything, but are you real sure you didn't put in 3 1/2 quarts and just miss seeing an empty bottle...or at least put in closer to a full 3 quarts? The reason I ask is that the Spyder's oil tank will not hold the entire 4+ quarts needed. You need to dump in 3, then start the engine to fill the filter cavities, oil pump, and passages...then put in the rest of the oil. Your manual covers this procedure. If you were close to the three quarts, or over, I'd start the engine and run it a few seconds, then check again and fill the remainder. Remember not to fill to the "Full" line with the cold oil. You will need to get the Spyder to full operating temperature (not just normal water temperature) before finalizing the oil level.
I still think there is another issue. I put 4 quarts of oil in even before I start the motor so I know it will hold it.
It won't, always. I usually put in 4 quarts straight away, but a couple of times it has overflowed at a bit over three. Probably a function of the oil pump rotor position. Starting the engine cures it.I still think there is another issue. I put 4 quarts of oil in even before I start the motor so I know it will hold it.
Hahaha Yes the oil was drained... Wasnt sure if maybe it was a filter install issue or a hose that sometimes collapses.
