• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Touch up Paint

Well, been around the block a few times and no one will mix the Paint codes for my pure magnesum. I found a paint supply that has about 100 differnent silvers to pick from so I think I can get some acrylic enamal that will match close enough. It is rediculas that BRP cannot suppy touch up paint for their own product. Just another lesson learned it sees.

It will run me about $150 dollars to buy a pint of touch up along with clear coat and reducer.. add that to the hassel I have been through just to get close to touching up my 1/4" scratch. It it does match I will share the paint code for the acylic enamel.

Regards,

Randy

I wish you luck with that. I once tried to match an object's white color with what I thought would be a close enuff color. White is white, right? Until you try to match its shade it is, that's when you find it has some blue in it, or green, or pink, etc, etc. Drives you nuts! Never did get a match.

The answer staring you in the eyeball is to repaint the whole thing. :sour:

I don't get it either . Show up with paint codes and they can't mix it and why BRP can't supply touch-up paint is beyond me as well. A missed opportunity to dip into our pockets .

Thats correct, niether the BASF or PPG codes are available in anything but water based and the colorants for the water based are outrageously expensive and the paint dealers will not mix on site due to the way water based is made. One of the few paint shops in my county that can mix up the color quoted me $400 to mix up some water based touch up paint, materials only. These colors have no cross reference so they cannot be accurately produced in anything but water based. Color Rite blew me off as well, they have no plans to try to produce this color.

We have a good contact at colorite (his name is Steve) and I called him after I saw your post. He said if you would be willing to send him a painted part (like your glove box as an example) he will match and mix your paint, plus give you a nice amount of touch up paint all for free. You can contact him at 1-800-736-7980. I let him know a customer may be calling so perhaps this will help ya out. They are the company we use and they do a great job. www.colorrite.com

Thanks for those 2012 Codes Jeff!

I do not believe that they make a Nutron Green Cowl yet and I will be looking to get one this summer.

Thx again!

Problem wasn't in finding the paint, problem is in the price! It's cheaper to buy new parts!

I am speaking of a tiny scratch repair. I did go to a dealer, to mix and fix the 1/4" ong by 1/32" wide scratch with the correct water based paint he wanted $350. Yes, $150 is a lot cheaper. As I said, locally water based paint is only used in 2 shops through out Whatcom county.

PAINT OPTION ?

This is for 08 G/S yellow only....cub cadet 99-759-3940, this is old cub yel it's lighter than the new paint and it's very very close...about $15 for 12 oz. ( spray can ) from a dealer....this is not the "valspar " version......Mike
