• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

When is the best time for a Colorado Spyder Ryde - 2012??

ride colorado

i will be going to my family reunion in the black hills s.d. in middle june next year. after that i would like to visit my sister in colorado springs. would enjoy riding with someone who can show the sights off. keep me posted.

Great riding in CO. We were snowed out of Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park (RMNP) in early July but returned to ride it during early Sep. For a flat-lander from the midwest, words cannot describe how awesome it is! Did US550 from Durango to Grand Junction in in both July and Sep, too. Couple of mornings were a bit frosty at higher elevations on the Sep run.

Any who hasn't taken the opportunity to see CO is missing a great state full of great scenery and friendly people.

p.s. The HAM patch from the CC riders is earned for going over five 10K foot passes. What do they give for riding 8 miles above 11K feet? and that's just part of Trail Ridge Road in RMNP

Good luck with your plans!!!

From my place... you can ryde 5 - 10k passes in just about 3 hours... Trail Ridge Road is an especially great ryde on the week days, when everyone is at work! ;)

Colorado ryde

In '08 I rode my Bonneville America to visit my brother in Longmont. Maybe, '12 would be a good year to revisit him on my Spyder. When the dates etc. get decided on, please post on this forum.

Hey ABQ - Thanks for the invite, but I think I'm going to head west first through Durango and then south.... the roads are looking okay and it will save me about 75 miles. But, let's keep in touch and get some rydes going in '12. I love ryding the Taos area and the enchanted circle! Thanks again... ;)

Count me in! I've ridden through Taos but haven't done the Enchanted Circle yet. I've heard that is gorgeous. There's also an amazing ride I did last spring that goes from Taos over to Abiquiu that has some amazing scenery and awesome twisties. I'm up for whatever! Have a safe ride! spydern.jpg

love Colorado...New Mexico....set up a few rides and I'll see how it fits in my schedule.......I'm headed west and north this summer

Even mid to late September CAN be great ryding here! Depending on when the first frosts hit the high country... the colors and the golden quaking aspens can be well worth the trip!!!! We'll wait a while and pick a date after the BIG NEWS comes out.... but I think Lamont is just referring to not picking the same date. It would be great if there was a national BRP event here, but I wouldn't bet on it... too far for too many to travel. Come on BRP make me eat my words!!! ;)

I have pretty good Intel that the BRP Owners Event will be in Durango CO sometime in June. The dates are being nailed down now. :doorag:

:yes::2excited:

I wouldn't be excited if I wasn't. ;)

The very first Valkyrie rally was in Montrose CO and I fell in love with the area then. I've been through several times since then but have not spent a whole lot of time there. I'm looking forward to it next year and will most likely take off to San Diego from there to see family. :doorag:

Could be tricky, but at least you'll have three wheels!!! Do you know which passes you are aiming for yet?

Vail Pass, Kenosha Pass, Tennessee Pass, Loveland Pass, and Milner Pass are the Passes I have selected. I will also be attemping Red Mountain Pass (Million Dollar Hwy) on the way home. All of this of course is dependant on the snow on the ground and the weather. I will also be taking my GoPro on Hwy 550 so I don't have to stop to take a picture. :)

You can get Hosier Pass between Kenosha and Loveland...

We might, depends on where the snow is and the road conditions. I chose those based on their elevation (between 10 & 11 thousand) and vicinity to Denver.
