• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. We had hoped to get to Spyderfest, but, alas, we will be moving during the first week of May, so that is a no-go. But, let us know your route to California..we are moving to the middle of OR (Roseburg) and will be much more CA accessible. We have not made any plans on the summer as of yet. Kind of waiting to see what the MotherShip is doing as far as a factory get together.

Nice Weather combined with $$ & now my face hurts 2 days later

In the last couple of days, we've done over a thousand miles of Spyder Ryde'n. On Sunday, we had 3 Spyders together for our 2nd Cincinnati Spyder Ryders get together & we had wonderful weather for our cruise out east following route 52 along the Ohio River, Good Times!

So on Monday, we had sunny skies & Temps. in the low 70's & we took full advantage of it. Not kidding, my face still hurts (2days later) from smiling so dang much. Not sure if you noticed or not, but since our rear tire is just about shot, I haven't been doing much (if any) Spirited ryding lately. Since I got my signing bonus on Friday, I knew I could finally afford to get the rear tire replaced this week, so I could trash the remaining tread on the old one, So we set out to have FUN & thats just what we did. Man, is it fun to take the Spyder to the edge of sanity or what. I was really surprised tho, when I found our favorite road, that we hadn't ridden in a couple of months, cause it was tearing apart & slipping into the river, was for the most part, totally repaved with blacktop & was buttery smooth again. WOO HOO!!! We got airborne a couple of times

I said the same thing last year

Seeing as it was dark when we took the SpYder & Camper out, & I only use my Droid or Tab for pics, I didnt think any of them would take. I remember saying the same thing last year "Dang It, we shoulda got pics of this." & here I am another year later saying the same thing :lecturef_smilie: Its just so easy to get caught up with the kids having fun & then everybody being all over Teddy, maybe I'll hire a Personal Photographer for next years event :p

OK! so here's the story

Dav! Is that an i-pad in the middle of Ted's Red Sled's bars?:yikes:

In an effort to "Economize/downsize" do to the fact that, since all my OverTime was cut & I was getting temporarily laid off 1 day a week, I found myself (&Teddy) living beyond our means, so, when that happens, you gotta do what you gotta do to make it. So, many of lifes little luxuries had to go, you know, like cable, news paper delivery, magazine subscriptions, that kinda stuff. There was NO WAY I was even thinking of getting rid of Teds Red Sled tho, that thing isn't a luxury nor a "toy" like the SpYder is for many on here. For me (& Teddy) its my daily driver & Therapist ALL-N-ONE! So I made the aformentioned cuts, but that still wasn't enough for adjustimg to a sub-40 hour pay-check. Ugh, now what goes? That's when I first toyed with the idea of selling my car, since I don't use it & its just sitting & costing me money. As of now, even tho I still haven't driven it in over 9 months, I'm still going to keep it to see how this winter goes with the SpYder & if all goes well, I'll sell it next Spring or Summer. Having the proper gear & the Moto-Mate Camper & I've not found a real need to be a full-time car owner. If the rare instance arises where I would NEED a car, I can always go out & rent one for a day or two.

Anyways, back to our story. Ok, so if that isn't an iPad on the handle bars, what is it? No, NOT AN iPad, but pretty darn close. Its actually the 7" version of the Galaxy Tab (tablet pc). We had originally got the Apple iPad when it first came out, cause Teddy & I do alot of road-trips on his SpYder & I wanted to be able to quickly & easily .................................Sorry, TBC ............ work work work....... (not that I'm bitch'n, mind you-LOL)
HERE'S THE CONTINUED STORY
share Teddy's Adventures & pictures with his fans while on the road. I find there really is never enough time while on a trip, cause we're usually swarmed with fans taking pictures and answerring questions to be able to actually just sit in front of a computer and share, so I usually wait til the day is over & try to recoup & share the day with Teddy's fans once to day has ended & its downtime.

So, I had the first gen Ipad, but without FLASH support, I couldn't upload any pics onto the SpYderLovers.com Website & as most ppl agree, pictures make a post allot easier to understand and share. That old saying of, "A picture is worth a thousand words" rings true here. So, having to make more financial cuts, having home internet service at close to $50 a month plus paying another $50 for mobile internet for the iPad, one had to go. So, my thinking was, if I could find a mobile pad that had Flash & could do just about everything a computer could do, I could cut out my home internet service & save another $50 a month.
Hmmmmmmmm..... so I started searching. I was on Verizons web-site when I saw they were offering CLICK-ON WEB-ONLY Specials. One special was too good to be true. A refurbished 7" Galaxy Tab for only $66.42:yikes: REALLY???? Wow, hell, for that price, how could I NOT try it? So, I clicked on the add to purchase, but when it loaded the next page, the price had changed from the aformentioned Advertised $66.42 to now $149.99:yikes:
HUH??? Go back, still shows $66.42, BUY, changes to $149.99 again. UGH!!! I did this back & forth at least a dozen times, still always showed the low price til you clicked BUY, then it would change every time to the $149.99 price. I noticed on the page a banner saying if you have any questions, just call this #. Ok, so I called, got a service rep. & explained to her that I was trying to buy the REFURBISHED 7" Galaxy Tab for the advertised $66.42 (to which i heard her laugh:roflblack: in disbelief) & that every time I clicked on the BUY button, it would change the price to $149.99 & I didn't understand what was going on. She explained the cheapest price they offer the 7" Galaxy Tab for was the $149.99 price. When I told her that Verizons OWN Website was ADVERTISING it for the lower $66.42 price, she explained that it must be do to a glitch in their on-line system. She was very nice tho, & appologized for the mistake & frustration. She said if I can take a "Screen Shot" of the web-page showing the lower price & I emailed it to her, she would take it to her SuperVisor & see if he would approve the "Advertised" price. Cool! After some time waiting, she came back & said that the glitch had been confirmed & corrected (thanks to me bringing it to their attention) & that her SuperVisor agreed to allow me to purchase ONLY 1 7" Galaxy Tab for the "Glitch" Advertised price for only $66.42  DEAL! - DONE! - 2 days later, we had it in hand

:thumbup:Told ya there was a story there, didn't I :roflblack: Sorry to take so long to tell it :p
