• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ride into flood devestated Central New York

There is a section that is closed, except to local traffic. But, like I said up above, we were locals last Saturday. I think there were two places in the closed section (if I remember right) where they were doing road repair. I'm sorry I can't be more specific; but, I didn't stop and gawk on my $14,500 spyder (when new).:roflblack:

You better include your mods to get that price up to $25,000.00 :roflblack::roflblack:

Ohhhh... :opps:

We are going to try to be there by 9:45 to eat with you all. Is there a gas station near the diner because we will be needing fuel for our bellys and our Spyder when we get there.

I hope RT 30 is open all the way down because thats how we are coming.
Would 88 to 8s into deposit, then east on 17 be any better.

Guys I think im in....The wife gave me the ok:joke:. Whats the best routes from Lebanon valley area? (east of Albany on the Mass border). Im well over 100mi from Roscoe. Any way to meet someone in Albany area to ride the rest of the way???

You may want to meet up with arntufun in Amsterdam. I believe he's right off the thruway.

I'm all for having riding company for the way down, but it's certainly not the fastest route for you. You will be taking 87 south and getting off in Kingston according to map quest. Wyliec will be in Kingston I think.

But if you want to come my way and ride down with Holly and I, your more than welcomed to.

I got hit kinda hard with Irene, my house is / was in the pic below. I am lucky to get a state buyout because of all the flooding over the years, this being the worst since 1984. There was 4ft. of water in my house, lost a lot of stuff. I am staying with my friend and waiting for a new house to be closed on. However this really ruined my riding season, havn't been on the Spyder in 2 months. I wish I cold join you guys however I work on Saturdays.

Sorry to hear about your loss as Irene did a lot of damage all over the northeast especially in the mountainous valleys. Good luck on your road to recovery as it appears that you are on. I had several tree down in the back, but nothing compared to some.

That road is in a lot better condition, but it's a bit further West... You'd have to hit 17 East up to Rte 94 for Roscoe then...
...But it IS a nice ride also!

It's 11 miles furthur and 2 minutes longer that way, but not as twisty. I love twisty !!! I wish you had your Spyder Bob, I would have loved to ride with ya. But at least I will be able to meet you for breakfast. :ohyea:

2012 will be a better time for a ride for sure! I got the pictures back of the devastation... (Off-Topic thread...)
Rte 8 actually comes South through some very nice scenery and Towns... Best for a Mid-Summer's ride!
(During the Winter that's SnowRoute One... everybody from our neck of the woods heading to Booneville or Old Forge.)
Wait a minute! How are you covering 11 miles in only 2 minutes??? :lecturef_smilie: :roflblack:

5 1/2 miles per minute= 330 mph.

boborgera,

I just thought of something. Roger used to head down to NJ for bike nights that you used to attend. So, I'm thinking your not that far from our ride. How about bringing that new trike up for the ride?

Its only a few miles more to meet you, and a good excuse to extend the rydin time. If I can get all my work done in time for the ryde, I'll meet up with you.
This rain is killin me with work...

Where is a good place to meet? I know the area somewhat, was a truck driver yrs ago.
