• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

scrolling message on spyder startup

Someone posted previously (and I can't find it) that they had to press the 'M' button a second time after start up to clear the scrolling message about reading the safety card. After almost 3 years my spyder (2008 GS, SM5) just started doing that, whether I use the 'M' button on the handlebar or console. I'm just wondering what the problem may be since I can't find the original post.

I don't think this is the same [08 gs m5] , But when i hit the M button the scroll would stop, then when i hit the start button the scroll would come back on, Hit it a second time [m button] then, the start button again the Spyder would start.
Slightly loose neg terminal ''At'' the battery.

No, my spyder starts right up; the second 'M' press is to just clear the screen. I guess I can check the battery connections.

The most common cause is a loose battery connections or a loose rear frame ground (negative jumper terminal).

That happened to me in Canada. The thing about it is that your mileage doesn't register. A good way to keep the miles down.:dontknow:

Thanks, Scotty. The rear frame ground was slightly loose. After tightening, I started the spyder and the scrolling message didn't reappear; keeping fingers crossed and knocked on wood.
