• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. I was on my way to my dealer in Corry, PA because my battery was bad (I think). I stopped in Erie to get a bite to eat. Afterwards I couldn't get the thing started. I got a jump but no dice. Called roadside assistance & the guy came out with a battery substitute. He jumped my battery...NO DICE. :(It acts like battery is shorted. So I disconnected the battery (-) terminal and jumped the wiring while bypassing the battery. NO DICE:cus: i was dead in the water. I had to get a room at the travel center ($85):( and will have the dealer come and get me tomorrow. I am about 20mi out. I had to give up my room in Fidnley Lake, NY because I can't get there (my original plans were to stay there):cus::cus::cus:. I got the room thru Priceline so NO REFUND:gaah: ($105 down the tubes:gaah:) So far spent $190 and nothing done yet. :cus:
We'll see what tomorrow brings. I hope it's not the starter:mad:

That sucks. I'd give the other hotel a call and explain the situation maybe they will let you stay a different night. It can't hurt to try.

:gaah: Some days, everything goes bad. Try the idea about asking for a different time on the lost room. It can't hurt. Keep us posted.

Stranded

I called the motel and they say it's out of their hands since the reservation was made by a 3rd party (Priceline).:gaah:
Maybe I can take it as a tax deduction:dontknow:

Sorry to hear this Bro. Let us know what they find out.
Hey you could visit Pete at Power Sports Wraps while you're there. :doorag:

you live in Stow, Ohio and your dealer is in Corry, Pa? Wow! I must be spoiled I would not buy a BMW because the dealer was 100 miles away. Good luck with the Spyder.

I ended up with the dealer in Corry, PA because the dealer in Cleveland was(is) a complete douchebag:(. At the time that I bought my first Spyder in '09, the Corry, PA guys were the next closest (at 150mi) dealer. They treat me right so I stick with them.

Dead battery

To make a long story short, they replaced my battery and everything came back to life:clap:. The old battery must have shorted out. She purrs like a kitten now. All is well again.:2thumbs:
Lamont, I didn't get your message until after I got back home. Sorry.:dontknow:

Glad that's all it was :doorag:

I hope everything works out.
Corry,PA is my hometown.

I bet your original room was at Peak'n Peak.
The land for which was my Dad's family farm. Sold in 1940 for $140.00 (Dad's share) continuing the family tradition of brilliant business decisions.
Ha... you are correct. I have stayed at Peak 'n Peak in the past where they only charged me $50/night. This time they wanted to charge $120/night so I opted for another place. The next closest was a Holiday Inn in Findley Lake. That's the one that I couldn't get to and consequently lost my deposit of $105. I do love Peak'n Peak, though.

That is pretty standard for the discount travel sites and low hotel rates. I use it to my advantages and have gotten some great getaway weekends at upscale hotels by using their "no refund or changes" price.

If it is for business or money that I cannot afford to use, I will reserve at the higher rate directly through the hotel.

I am glad you are happy. I bought my first Spyder from them in 08. They have in my opinion gotten big heads from selling too many Spyders and forgot were they came from and who helped get them there.

Resolved..Battery Situation

Over the past week I was installing my Power Commander V and I finally discovered why my Battery appeared to have gone bad:banghead:. I had unplugged my audio system and just left the power cord under my Corbin Seat. During several subsequent rainstorms, WATER LEAKED THROUGH THE HOLE FOR THE CORBIN BACKREST and pooled in the space under my seat:gaah:. The power cable for the Audio System was sitting and corroding in said pool. Eventually the plug corroded enough to produce a partial short which drained my battery and prevented it from taking a full charge. The pooled water stayed under the seat for some time because it was covered by the seat and couldn't evaporate.
I will have to come up with a method to prevent water from leaking thru the seat into the sub-seat area. Has anyone else (i.e. Lamont) had this problem?:dontknow:

Can't say I've ever noticed any water under the seat or any signs of it. :dontknow:
