• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

3000 mile service

I am getting close to my 3000 mile service and I was wondering should I do it at 3000 miles or do it in 3000 miles from my break-in service?

I am just wondering since the price of service is so high on these machines.

I had the same issue at the end of last month and went ahead and did it anyway, many have said that the oil was dirty enough (from the break-in) and that this is what BuRP wants, the manual seems to agree.

I was just going to do the 3K service at 3K and not 3600 miles. I figured it really doesn't matter that much. And I figured that it would be easier to remember big round number instead of having to add 600 miles to know the exact service mileage.

The book says 3,000, not 3,600 miles, but I doubt going to 3,600 would cause any probems. I did it at 725, 3,450 and plan on going to around 7,000, then switching to full synthetic Amsoil and changing every 5-6,000 miles after that when ever I can get to my dealer. To me, every 3,000 miles is a little much....I have changed my Wing oil every 8-9,000 miles for years with no ill effects.

What's your input if the operator's manual states every 3,000 miles and you go 6,000 and have an engine problem? This question isn't about synthetic vs blend. I'm just curious and I know some will say that BRP would have to prove that going more miles between oil cjanges caused the problem.
