• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anyone made a Maintenance Schedule?

Yes, I know its in the manual. What I am talking about is instead of looking at in a grid pattern, is taking that information and put it in a format like this:

600 miles
Change Oil
Change HCM Oil Filter (SE5 Model)
Inspect and clean Oil Strainer

3000 miles
Change Oil
Change HCM Oil Filter (SE5 Model)

I'm gonna do it, but I figured I would ask, why reinvent the wheel?

Schedule

I just looked into my manual because I am coming up to my 12,000 mile service, wow, lots to have checked or done. Valve clearance check or adjust, air filter, spark plug replace, brake & clutch fluid replace, antifreeze replace, new rear tire and from what I can see, my rear brake pads are close to needing replacement. I forgot the rear bearings, maybe I should change them while the wheel is off, not down the side of the road before my next tire change !!

Recommend no valve clearance adjustment at 12,000--service costs about $800--and you don't need it at that time. A lot of us are going to wait till about 36,000 miles.

I agree with you but wonder what if ? BRP can get sticky if something goes wrong. My tech guy has told me no shims as of 30,000 miles have been changed yet. I will bite the bullet and pay for a valve clearance check, just in case. The antifreeze, brake & clutch fluids will wait as I think 12,000 miles in less then two years is a bit early to change. I will do that next year. My tire is worn though and am pushing it to the 12,000 mile service, only a short distance from now. Toys are expensive !

Interesting...you worry about the warranty coverage if you don't do the valve check, but defer changing the fluids, which is more likely to cause damage. Very confusing! The best solution, for those of you that have service done by a dealer, is to ask them if they have a problem deferring any of the service tasks. They are the ones that have to stand by the warranty.

Longevity

I think fluids can wait till next year but not the valve clearances. I don't think that brake fluid needs changing at 12,000 miles as the antifreeze or clutch fluid unless it takes a long time to put that many miles on. My bike is only a year and a half old. I do it every two years on my sports car and even my daily driver so what makes the Spyder so special?
