There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

If you go under "Settings" and at the bottom find where to put the screen in "black mode", the contrast of printing is not bad. I can see who, what, when with this setting. Not really liking the white print on light blue background. The black mode is different. But, it works. Lots to get used to. But anything is worth it to continue to have the forum.

Well, I'm still swimming around trying to navigate through the changes.
One important feature to me that I really like, small though it is..........................
When viewing pictures the "Next" button is in the upper right instead of the lower middle. Before I always had to page down to the button, hit next to scroll to the next picture. Then repeat for each photo. View, page down, find next button, scroll. Etc, etc.
Now the button is in the same part of the screen at all times. View, Next, View, Next.
I'm easily pleased.
Another excellent feature: It appears you can attach more types of files now, specifically zip files, so at least we can share Zumo routes, or any other file by zipping it down first.
EDIT...As I posted this I see my Avatar and signature have dropped out. I can't figure out how to add them back in yet and I need to go to work now. I'm sure it will all sort out in the end....
The attachment menu still needs a little tweaking, the text is still white on white. I'm certain all will get fixed in time.

Damn right! I had withdrawal symptoms when I couldn't access SpyderLovers for a whole day!
Made me realise how much time I spend browsing here, but then there is no place like it. I like the new forum layout and the additional tools when you're composing.
We can even drop in a picture!

Same as everybody else, (even Lamont), I had the same problem. Found my avatar field was blank in "My Profile" so I reloaded it and got it back.

That option was removed for now. I'm still working on this one and I'm getting close, just need to find where the white on white font can be changed. :dontknow:Please be more clear as to where to change to black mode? i can't see and its driving me nuts

pps: I found (I think!) where to edit the avatar, but didn't see a button for uploading or anything... I kept ending up in a bunch of pictures that I had uploaded... A bit of a guiding hand would be appreciated! :helpsmilie:I FOUND IT!! It wasn't taking my choice... for some reason this started out as a GIF image...
