Thought i'd give you guys an update. Took my Spyder to the dealer the other day and dropped it off for them to troubleshoot the engine noise. Got a call a few days later and it appears they have found what is causing the problem. I guess there is some sort of pump in or near the tranny that runs directly off of the crank. Well the bearing had excessive play and alot of metal shavings around it. The dealer is going to replace the part and we shall see. Good news is they did not have to split the cases or disect my engine. i'll let you all know if that indeed was the problem.

After much much thought and the advice from here. I have decided to let them take it and start looking into the motor. If it at first they find nothing under valve covers, side covers and the easily accessible inspections of the engine i'm going to tell them to contact me before proceeding to disect my engine. Hopefully something obvious will be found early in the process.
I do not expect the dealer or BRP to give me the world just what i paid for. a Reliable machine!
Whatever happens i will update you all on what they find.
Thanks to all that have given advice on here. It is much appreciated!

I have also noticed a sound from the left side of my 2011 SE5. I think it sounds like the heatshield vibration you hear on cars sometimes... Will mention to my dealer when I take it in..
Jack, if your using Velocity Powersports..Your decision is good let them start checking engine Very good service dept..More than likely problem will be found without completely removing eng...Best of Luck to you...

i cant help you out with the problem but if it was me and it was my bike i would see if they can get me a loaner bike to use till they fixed mine. it wont be yours but at least you will be able to ride while your bike is down. OR if you are making payments for the bike see if they could take care of a payment or two for you.
There is nothing wrong with your trailer. The 2011 trailer is wired for 4-wire operation. It shares the same taillight assembly as the RT, but uses it differently. The backup lights were not functional on the 2010 trailer, either. I suspect that is due to regulatory prohibitions in some locations.I am new Spyder owner and purchased my 2011 RT Limited in April. I noticed the same screeching/squeaking problem coming fm the left side. My dealer could not find the problem at my 600 mile inspection. I have not ridden much since the service, but the problem still persists. I took a short ride today and the noise is getting worse, and a noticed a rattle coming fm the left side as well.
I hope I do not have to trade my Spyder for another bike to get this problem fixed. But I am concerned, because when I purchased my bike, I ordered the RT-622 trailer. After I took delivery of the trailer several weeks later I did a light check on the trailer only to find out that the 4 back-up and blinker lights did not work. When I looked closely, there were no bulbs and no sockets for the lights...just silver tabs where the lights should be. I took pictures and sent them to the dealer. He sent them to BRP, and they asked if there was a wiring harness for the missing lights...that makes me a bit nervous. The dealer will be picking up the trailer tomorrow to figure out the problem. I will be scheduling my Spyder for service for the noise problem tomorrow as well.
As a new Spyder owner my experience w/ regard to BRP quality is a bit shaken at this point.
Well my spyder problems are over. alot of people here will probably not agree with, but i only have one person to please... me. I sold my Spyder back to the dealer and purchased a 2011 Kawasaki voyager 1700. I have had enough of the spyder and issue after issue. It handled like a dump truck, in the shop more than i rode it, and the heat it puts off flat sucks. I know i am only one person and many of you love your Spyders and i wish you all many happy days riding, but for me i was not happy with it and did not wish to keep it and see what else it had in store for me down the road.
