• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. NMN HID Headlights lost low beam

I have not looked into what happened yet, but I have NMN hid headlights and the low beam is gone?? I'm doubting it is bulbs cause both went away equally, must be a wiring issue? Only reason I'm posting is if anyone else had this happen and could say--Yeah its a fuse wire or something:chat: any thoughts? otherwise when I get time to dig in and solve it I'll post my findings

It's not the bulbs. They are on at a constant brightness all the time. The high/low is determined by shutters in the light assembly. Check to see if the fuse for the shutter is blown.

Do you have any light at all out of the HIDs ? If you do then its not the HIDs its the shutter !

Yes high beams are fine

Interesting, will look into that, when I put them in 2 yrs ago I thought all the power plugged into the bulb itself, have to see about these shudders you speak of? I don't disagree just a new one on me Thanks

That is an interesting problem. Let us know what the diagnosis ends up being.

I will maybe Mon. pm I can dig into it

If they're working on one setting then the bulbs are just fine. The Spyder lights stay on all the time and there is just a 'eyelid' type shutter that you can hear 'click' when switching from low to high, etc. Never heard of anyone having a shutter failure -- but there's a first time for everything.

If you end up needed some shutter parts -- let me know-- I have a spare set of front lenses with shutters...... (If SOMEGUY would ever give me one of them back-----)

Didn't I tell you...I sold it! :joke:

OK, I've forgotten about it a couple times...but you've been to my house and forgotten as well! :D

Have you accumulated enough spare parts to build another Spyder yet? It sure sounds like you have almost everything. :D

So tonight I go down to "dig in" to the problem, started it up thought I'd go for a ride first, and dimmed lights to see if I could hear the shudder or relay activate and whalla the dims worked:dontknow: Went for a long ride made a couple stops had to switch from high to low for traffic after dark and they worked flawlessly:dontknow:.. I've had mysterious electrical glitches before but this was present for a whole day, for now I'm chalking it down as a gremlin and will update if the situation reappears. My current opinion is it had to be a sticky relay, this is just a guess at this point.

It did happen on Saturday and was close to 6pm maybe my:spyder2:was giving up due to the end of the world:yikes: But since we are all still here :spyder2: decided to keep on keepin' on:2thumbs:

At least it started working for you again. Hopefully it is done playing games and will continue to work properly.
