• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hello everyone just ordered my copper and black rss today and will be picking it up next Friday. Ordered it with a bunch of extras but not sure if I should get the Hindle exhaust. I assume it wouldn't be as loud as my HD Deuce with Vance and Hinds 2 into 1 pro pipe but would like to know how much louder than stock it is. Also a little worried about fuel economy as I have read here on the forums of people getting worse mileage. I would not be changing anything but the slip on.
Thanks for any info.

It is substantially louder, especially at higher RPMs, yet not obnoxiously loud. Add to that the Y logo in the heat shield and the Can-Am label gives it a nice stock look in case you're worried about getting pulled over. You can say it's a stock pipe. :2thumbs: Most (if not all) aftermarket pipes are louder but the Hindle definitely doesn't disappoint. I'm completely happy with mine. As for fuel economy, I haven't noticed much of a difference at all. It's probably slightly better with the Hindle but not a whole lot of difference. See my Fuelly badge below.

I would say the hindle is ok but take a look at the HMF exhaust its popular and not as expensive as the handle. you can find it on bay. i paid like 225-230.

I didn't find the handle obnoxiously load. It won't really compare to the 2 in 1 V & H's. Careful about the "stock" claim though. In Canada, at least, it is clearly stayed that the handle exhaust is "for track use only" the statement is not for the dB level. The handle has no catalytic converter, as does the stock exhaust, so needed to meet emissions standards. They are not tested for emissions here in Canada, but the selling of the bikes require certain standards be met.

:welcome:

The Hindle is a decent can, and I really like the sound of it, but many of us have had issues with the rivets coming loose on the heat shields. This makes a terrible rattling sound that you will end up hearing even over the Hindle. We ended up rebuilding mine with nuts and bolts, and then had to paint it in order to "hide" the damage.

I have a thread about it here: http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26941

But here is a quick picture of the final result:

Just something to keep in mind before you dump that kind of coin on an exhaust can.

Yes, the HMF is cheaper and a little louder. My wife has the HMF and the sound is very similar to the hindle. That would definitely be a good choice as well.

Thanks for all the info. Here in Montreal you have to be very careful with loud pipes. It seemed to start about the time of the biker wars between the Hells Angles and Rock Machine which left quite a few dead. The police seemed to have used loud pipes as a reason to pull bikers over t least if you were riding a Harley. I defiantly like the looks of the Hindle more than the stock pipes so as long as they aren't too loud and don't adversely effect gas mileage I may have it put on. Dealer told me he will have one on a Spyder so I can check it out. I don't find the V&H pipes on my HD bad as long as I take it easy.

V&H is supposed to have something in the works as well. We have another thread on here about it where a Spyder Lover may be becoming a test pilot for them. I am anxious to see what they end up coming out with.

I have a question about the HmF muffler, I looked on sites for the muffler and havent found anyone saying anything about fitting sypder but found many saying canam 4wheelers/which model is being used? thanks for any info.

The hindle is a great pipe...you can't go wrong...if they rivets do come lose, you can replace with new ones (bigger) or go with bolts, as some have done.

I can't talk for the other pipes, but I'd go with tried and true...looks good, sounds great!

Go to e-bay. Type Can Am Spyder HMF exhaust. Bingo, you got. Buy one because that pipe will not disappoint you one bit.
