• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The Green route is a "destination ride" as opposed to a scenic ride. We will depart Hood Park (Spyderfest Central), ride through Cuba on North Franklin, and travel I-44 for about 30 minutes. We'll exit I-44 at Stanton, exit 130, Hy W. There are a couple of tourist/souvenir shops in the area, but the main attraction here is the Meramec Cavern tour.

This is also one of the Friday rides, but given a little down time and enough interested riders, we can go any time. It's a short ride, but the full tour is about two hours. They have an abbreviated tour that lasts about 45 minutes.

Meramec Caverns is a fun and affordable get-away for families of any size. For the better part of a century, nestled deep inside America's heartland, Meramec Caverns has offered fascinating and educational cavern tours for young and old alike. With all your cavern tour favorites like the "Stage Curtain" or the "Wine Table", Meramec Caverns also offers a number of new and unique attractions, filling your day with wholesome family fun and memories that will last a lifetime. Rate: $19.00 for adults, children 5-11 $7.00. Group rates available.

There are also river boat rides;

Enjoy a relaxing, history filled, half hour long excursion on the Meramec River aboard a canopy-topped riverboat. Cavern Queen I and Cavern Queen II can each hold 25 passengers. Boat runs are dependant upon weather and river conditions. Group rates are available.
Rates: $8.00 Adults, $5.00 Children 5-11.

There is a huge gift shop where you can purchase quality and affordable souvenirs for the entire family in the well stocked shopping area. From traditional tourist type gifts to the more exotic, the gift shop carries it all. Among the most popular items are: rocks and minerals, T-shirts, jewelry, books, headgear, knives, clocks, pictures, slides, postcards, toys, games, etc.

There is a restaurant where you can get lunch, and ICE CREAM

There is a Zip-Line, but it doesn't open until May 1st. I'll try to see if they can open early. :doorag:

Nice! I remember visiting the Caverns when I was just a kid in grade school - would be nice to go back and see if my remembered perceptions of the place are at all accurate.

It may be a little chilly for some. Regardless of the outside temp, it's normally about 60 degrees in the cave. So bring a light jacket or long sleeve shirt/sweatshirt. :doorag:

Gman your rout is going to be the advetures one with all the stuff you have planned. Going to be a fun ryde! Thanks to you and the queen for hosting it!

Update: Spyderfest Green Route

I spoke with the operator of the Zip Line at Meramec Cavern yesterday. The Zip Line is open for business. Their guided tour lasts about an hour and a half. Price is about $50 per adult.

The River Boat rides unfortunately, are not yet open.

See you all soon. :doorag:

The zipline sounds like fun. Do we schedule it ourselves and if so when do you think we would be there on friday to go on the zipline if we take the riding tour to the caverns
