• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Iv'e reading all these post's And i noticed that,;
Most Girls that ride, Ride Spyder's;):D [no new rope please:p]
I know a lot of women that ride. Some ride Spyders, and some ride other stuff, including Honda, Harley, Guzzi, BMW, Yamaha, Suzuki (and Busa), scooters, sidecars, and so forth. The women with the Spyders are the coolest, though. ;)

Haters are haters and you'll never change them. Pity them and move on.

Sheesh! I've been dissed while riding my HD. nojoke

:agree: Yazz, regardless of what you ride or who you are, there is someone who will decide they don't like it or they don't like you. Ignore them, shrug it off and enjoy what you ride. Ride your Spyder for yourself not for others.

boborgera, your insight into the topic of this thread is underwhelming.

Yep, I know several women who are way better riders than I am. How many miles has Voni Glaves put on BMW's? Several hundred thousand at least. And dltang hasn't mentioned it but she did two iron butt days in a row in the summer of 2009. I could do a lot worse than being compared to girls like these.

Just need to let things like this go. It does hurt the pride a little when it happens, but it will happen again eventually.

I was on Main Street during Biketoberfest when some guy in the crowd yelled "Won't your mommy let you ride a big boys bike?". I was miffed when it first happened, and stewed about it for a few hours after that thinking about come backs I should have ready for the next time. Then I realized it didn't physically hurt anything, like the old sticks and stones deal, and I just let it go. I am sure I will have another encounter some time down the road, and will need to just let it go then as well.

Many actions we may take in retaliation, like burning rubber or blowing their doors off, even though they seem harmless could end up getting us in trouble in many places. Better to be safe than sorry.

Now it is time to quietly stalk Love2Ride with the bottle of dish soap. :roflblack:

Heehee. BUSTED!!!

and... good thing I wasn't there when that guy dissed you. NOBODY messes with my baby! Sorry, I'm just not blessed with the "let it roll" attitude. :(

Only days after reading this thread, I had something similar happen to me. I pulled up to a light beside a junkmobile stitting in the right lane. A dirty, greasy (and probably smelly, I assume) redneck leaned out and yelled "Whatcha need 3 wheels fer? You a GIRL????" He leaned back in the car and hee-hawed it up with his buddies.

Well, that just peed me off a little bit... so, because this was a big intersection, and I knew I had time....

I unzipped the front of my jacket, pulled it open a bit, and gave him a small peek. Just happened to have a v-neck shirt on. Yup, I'm a girl. Damn proud of it.

I got to see all 8 of his teeth as his jaw dropped, just before the light changed. I waved 'bye' and took off; they got to eat my dust. Heh.

That was the first negative experience, though. I usually end up having to make extra time for fuel stops just to answer questions and let folks take pictures of Clyde.

You know in some states if you Flash a guy you automatically have to marry him. :yikes:

I think we should just make it simple and say that the Spyder is really only for women...I mean, come on, we don't want to be chauvinistic, do we? We keep saying that it's an offense to our bravado to be a man on a tricycle and be told our bike is for women...might as well do something to defend the rights of women!

(Anyone like my twist on this?)

this is what id do ,,,say that one more time pus.
I try not to sink to their level of stupidy. I will admit, I did once at a bike show outside. A "biker Broad" Lot of silicone and little clothing said, I would rather ride a moped then that thing. I answered that would be fine with me. I did not want her near me or my stuff. Her boyfirend started toward me, but stopped when his buddy said, I know him and his militrary background. His training says, after a fight one walks, the other is carried away. I am leaving and you should to. They left. I try not to do things like that, but that one hit me wrong.
Be nice, have fun and enjoy life. Best to just ignore idoits like that.

I also believe it's an attention thing the dude is just jealous he doesn't get any attention when pumps gas!!!

I live near Milwaukee Wi right in the middle of Harley Country! I ride a lot with the local hog chapter and have never had a problem with anybody. I even go to the Harley Museum weekly for bike night and never had a problem.

Only time they pick on me is when I take to long at the gas pump, talking about my spyder.

They call me the attention whore!!

Don't let it get to you just ride!
