• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Military Discount?

Questions

New member
Does anybody know if Can-Am offers a miltary discount?

Since I don't see an "Introduce Yourself" thread, I'll throw it in here. I'm currently in the Marines stationed at Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan, but heading out to the USS Kearsarge shortly to finish up a roughly 9 month deployment that started with disaster relief in Pakistan. I've been in 17 years come May, and work in Aviation Electronics. When I get back, I'll be heading to Patuxent River, MD for the next couple years. Married for 2 years, with our youngest daughter turning 2 in June. We both have 2 other kids from previous marriage. Needless to say, our family is just a little large.

Anyways, I started checking out all the Spyder info, and I'm bitten. I love everything I see so far. Never rode a motorcycle before, so a little worried about that, but that damn thing is just sexy. Hoping to pick one up when I get back, and moved into the place in Maryland. Have to find a good deal on a minivan for the wife first though.

I love this website, and I am learning lots of info here. Hope to be around for a long time.

:-)

First of all, :welcome: and thanks for serving our Country!!

Second... not aware of any Can-Am discounts for Military (and won't be surprised if they are any) BUT... Some states (Tennessee for instance) will waive sales tax on active duty military on any motor vehicle provided you prove you are stationed (copy of orders) in the state.

Good luck!!:2thumbs:

Thank You for Risking Your Life for All of US

The Spyder is my first byke as well. I started a Thread on here to provide info (Teddy provides the Entertainment) for new Ryders or those that are look'n into Spyders. We have an RT-S, so I cant offer any info on the RS, sorry. But if you'd like to follow along, Teddy is pretty Entertaining & you may find some answers to your questions as well. We wish you look:2thumbs: & again, Thanks for your Service!!!

:welcome: Thanks For your service:bowdown: . Unfortunately we lost one of our own Canadian Military members yesterday in Afghanistan. Be safe

:welcome: And thank you for your Service.
Don't worry about never ridden a Motorcycle, The only thing the Spyder has in common with a Motorcycle is being out in the open. Think of the Spyder as an street legal ATV. Good luck and Thank you again!!

There actually is a Canadian Spyder Ambassador, his name is Daniel, I believe he is from Quebec. He and Fred and Lamont are currently the only 3 official Spyder Ambassadors.

I'm a retired army CW4 and the only military discount I'm aware of is the additional 10% that my dealer gives me on parts which is at times substantial...Thanks for your service and God Speed...Larry

You sure that discount isn't for the cookies you bring with you when you come in for service? :roflblack:

Not sure Doc, those are the only 3 listed on the Can-Am site regarding the contest. I thought Ken was still one of the RT5 as well. Maybe they only listed the three but the others are out there. I know the newest guys was someone in Florida I thought, but I haven't heard much about or from him. :dontknow:
