• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Getting the Looks in Austin

Took my bike to work in Austin, Texas today for the first time. Need to get my first 600 miles on it ASAP. Work is about 17 miles away. Parked it outside of my second floor office window and it was rather amusing to watch people stop and gawk at the bike and try to figure out exactly what it was. Men and women, but mostly men, were mesmorized by it and one guy actually almost fell on the ground moving around it tripping on a fallen tree branch.

Lots of finger pointing, stares and puzzled looks at my bike. It was pretty amusing.

Makes you smile

Seeing stuff like that does bring a smile to your face. Congrats on an "Attention Grabbing Machine!"

:welcome:First of all welcome to the site - it' a great place for info. I can relate to "Getting The Looks", this will be my third year of riding the Spyder and I'm still amazed at how many people gather around when we stop. We were in Austin and the surrounding area last April/May. Wow has it changed over the past six years - we lived there for 19 years before coming to MN. The Austin area should be it's own state as it's so different from the rest of Texas - that's meant in a good way! We were lucky to hit one of the best years for wildflowers!! Absolutely beautiful!!!!

Back in 2008 when I first got my spyder, I could not go anywhere without getting held up by people with questions and there would be couple of people looking/waiting for me in parking lots. I still get looks but I think people are used to seeing spyder now or aware of it, at least but I still get quite of bit of "never seen anything like this before".

Guilty!

Yes, I am guilty and do draw a certain amount of narcasistic pleasure when people give me the "hairy eyeball" when they see the Spyder. I originally bought it with the thought of; "wow, that thing is a sled for the street"! I want one. Not giving a rat's patootle about what anyone thinks. The riding is the most fun I've had since snowmobiling and I have to confess, I love it when people gawk. I can't go anywhere without someonewanting to talk to me about it. Feels good! Doesn't it folks? HEHEHE...(Sinister Laugh):roflblack:

I call these things accident generators .... effing rubber neckers not paying attention to where they are going and gawking at the Spyder.:f_spider:

and trying to take your picture with their cell phone while driving their cage at the same time. :yikes:

It is still pretty amazing how many people will come up and ask questions about the Spyder. This has never happened with any other vehicle I ever owned.

Lookee Lou's

I also have noticed some people rubber necking looking at my Spyder. Love IT! ! !

Stopped at a DQ for a 'treat" and had several people take pictures of it.

One morning at breakfast, Joe' Restaurant, Mansfield, Texas, some customers were asking the owner who it belonged to, what was it, and how much did it cost.

I ride with a large group of Harleys (we're non-demoninational LOL) and believe me seeing a group of harleys coming towards you is intimidating, and then when you see this yellow and black spyder in the middle, it's a trip!:2thumbs:
