• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Maggie Valley owners event hotel

RV Resorts

Sure glad I waited to make RV Resort reservations. Actually much better choice of campgrounds in or near Cherokee. With a 40' motor home pulling a 12' cargo trailer we like the big rig friendly campgrounds with large open pull throughs of which none were available in Maggie Valley.

Hey draboo, what camp-ground are y'all stay'n at? Teddy & I need to make our reservations, but have no clue about the camp grounds in that area & it's always good to be close to fellow Spyder & Pooch Lovers as well :2thumbs:

Dave & Teddy

Hey Dave & Teddy, I think I am going to call River Valley CampGrounds and check our their rates. I liked the looks from their website as well or better than the other ones in the area. It is only 3.5 miles north of the host hotel. I called this morning but they don't open and take calls until Wed. March 23rd. When I get rates and info, I will post it. It is just bjt and me and a small tent and we will only be camping there on Friday and Saturday night. We have a 12 hour ride home on Sunday. Maybe we could all get campsites near each other with Brad and Pat too. Or maybe they have a large group site and we can split the cost. I will let you know as I get more info.

Maggie Valley Pet Friendly Hotel

We have stayed at the Microtel Inn in Cherokee a couple of times with our 2 small dogs and were very impressed. They are very motorcycle friendly, preferred parking, towels for cleaning, etc. and dog biscuits at the front desk day and night. They are just down the street from the Casino and have a shuttle as well.

We love it there and so do our pooches! Phone # is 828 497-7800 or www.microtelinn.com/cherokee. We have a room rate of $105 + pet fee for Fri and Sat nights for the Maggie Valley Event.

We are just coming home from Americade that week in Lake George, NY, hope we still have money left!!!!!:yikes:

Hi I found no campgrounds in Maggie Valley but did find em in Cherokee, Balsam,Waynesville. Those seem to be the closest. have Good Sam Parks one with 90 tent sites in CherokeeSaid their rates last yr were $30 to$45. Figurethe lower one for tents. Almost all the ones I found were up there for money. there's MoonshineCreek in BalsamRuns $34 has 23 tent sites They also have room for back ins (18X45)/ Let me know if there's others I can check up on for you. Have AAA books and the Good Sam RV directory for this year. See ya there just don't know where I want to go there yet. But figure that 90 tents sites are not going to be TOTALLY filled that weekend.................I hope.

Curious if anyone knows

Teddy & I are going to be camping with our Moto-Mate Camper & we also have an additional tent for extra room. We need electrical to be provided for the camper. Does anyone know if the "tent" sites come with electricity ?

Still waiting to see where other SpyderLovers are staying as far as camping goes??? :hun:

Teddy has NO clue what he's in for :roflblack: but it's gonna be a BLAST , that's for sure :ohyea:

The sites I am checking out on Wed. do have electric and water. There are two other campgrounds that I will look into if I don't like what I hear on Wed. They also have electric and water avail on tent sites. It is a nice extra to have for sure.

Just made our reservations at the host hotel and am looking forward to my first Spyder event and meeting everyone. How far from the hotel is Lamont's BBQ and what time does it normally start?

Made our camp reservations this morning at this place http://www.cherokeesmokies.com/rvcampground/ 5 miles north of the host hotel. sent PM to Cyncy and draboo in the event you want to share the site. I got one big enough for 3 tents and it really brings down the cost. It is site B1 if anyone else is reserving spots and wants to try and be near other Spyders.

Yes the sites have electric and water and they don't count motorcycles or spyders as extra vehicles. Small pets allowed if you clean up after them. $30.00 a night for up to 3 people and one tent then small extra charges for extra people and extra tents on the large sites.

It's official, we are sharing a campsite with Dave and Teddy, and Pat, Brad & Kiddo. Now Brian is trying to figure out how to get his dog Mya on his Spyder. I think we have gone to the dogs...LOL Can't wait.

When are folks leaving from Ohio?

We are new owners and this will be our first long distance trip on the Spyder. We would like to meet up other riders from the area and make trek down with company. We have hotel reservations starting Thursday at the Hampton in Cherokee. So we plan to leave thurs am. Any takers?

We are from Michigan, and with farther to go, we will be leaving Wednesday AM. We will be at Lamonster's BBQ Thursday, then ride on to the Hampton Cherokee. Glad to accompany you from the BBQ, if you attend, or else we will see you at the motel.
