• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Perfect! A Mummy Bag! But with your M.O. Doc, you may only need this for 1 night! :yikes:

I plan to wuss out early! (Don't tell Lamont!). So, maybe we can go home together!

I'm not Forrest, and I don't do CMN's, but otherwise I'm not too bad! :roflblack:

And I hear a guy can get another 10 mpg by staying in your wake! :D

:bowdown::bowdown: with my deepest admiration i wish you safe travels and a whole bunch of good fun:thumbup:

Guts & Glory

I know there are lots of well-wishers out there, and a great deal of support. I think we need to look at this from the perspective of the riders, though. This is a grueling journey, with the fatigue factor multiplying exponentially, as the lack of rest and the rigors of the trip stack up to make for an ever-increasing desire to just quit and rest. The last thing these riders need is a throng of riders fighting for the same stretch of road, distracting them, or competing for the available resources. I think the organizers are right to make rules keeping the single-leg riders behind, and discouraging wholesale participation, lest the whole thing becomes overwhelming. We can best support our favorite riders by possibly being there at start or finish, but not socializing at in-between stops, and by pledging our financial contributions to a good cause. Corporate sponsorships to help defray expenses would also be encouraged...as would making parts/repair resources available when they are in the area...perhaps by providing emergency contact numbers after hours. Beyond that, I think we should leave them alone, unless invited, and let them ride their rides. Sorry to go up against the tide, but if I were competing, I would not be too friendly when I would rather sleep than chat or wave.
Scotty, you're just an old Curmudgeon but:agree:

Diehards

You were doing just fine until you included this in your post... :helpsmilie:

Several years ago a buddy and I rode to the Honda Hoot in Knoxville. We decided to go cheap and stay in one man tents at a KOA campground. We were right across the road from a Hampton Inn. Well, long story short, it rained like a Monsoon. We were soaked and miserable. We ditched the tents and checked into the Hampton for a SHOWER AND A NICE WARM BED.:roflblack:

Correction

4. I would say if you can pull it you can do whatever you want with it including sleeping in it but the G&G guys would have to say for sure.

Answer: Sorry, no sleeping in the trailer. All that is allowed for Camp Guts is a sleeping bag, bedroll, or a hammock. No tents or make shift shelters are allowed. Maybe this will give us all a little more respect for what our Military goes through daily.

Thanks to Lamonster

I was reminded of this post I make a few weeks back. I stand corrected and I miss stated the above. Tents ARE allowed in Camp Guts.

Lamonster & Doc,
It was great to finally get to meet you in person in Daytona this past week. Ride safe and I look forward to seeing you again.

So, Lamont, what about posting to the web every night..... Not that you'll have time anyway but hey, Doc's digging up the fine print and like they said on Ghost Busters, 'It don't look good'.
