Update on my 2011 RSS SE5...
Bad news: My Harley buddies & I went out rydin' yesterday through the backwoods twisties from Valencia to Antelope Valley. We ended up parking at a Harley dealership in that area 'cuz one of them wanted to add some more bling.
Anyway, coming back to the parking lot, I noticed a puddle underneath the front left side of my Spyder. We opened up the left panel & checked the engine oil level--the oil was barely touchin' the dipstick! One of my buddies noticed the splash on the rear fender as well.
I try to call my Spyder dealer but they were already closed for the day. I checked my manual to see what type of oil the RSS SE5 uses, and this particular Harley dealer doesn't carry them. I ryde the Spyder 1-1/2mi. down the street to a Rider's Choice store. They only have the 10W-40 Motorcycle Oil by Spectro.
I ryde the Spyder back home, checking the gauges (never overheated) & displays for any codes that may pop-up (never showed any codes).
I placed a cardboard underneath the Spyder and took a photo of the leak last night:
Waking up this morning, I took another photo of the Spyder:
--But noticed more leak spots on the cardboard:
Spectro's SAE 10W-40 Golden 4 Motorcycle Oil:
Here in Southern California, we're blessed this morning with a very nice sunny 65deg Sunday morning. As much as I wanna ryde, I'll just have to wait 'till tomorrow & ryde it to the dealer & have them take a look at it :gaah:
