• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Dynolicious is the first automotive performance meter available for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Dynolicious uses the hardware built-in to your iPhone to measure the performance characteristics of your vehicle. No external wires or equipment is necessary, simply slip the iPhone into a cradle or cupholder and go!
Some of the performance metrics Dynolicious can measure:

  • 0-60 Acceleration
  • 1/4 Mile Elapsed Time
  • Lateral G's
  • Horsepower
  • Friction Circle
  • Downloadable Timed Run Graphs
  • Downloadable Skidpad Graphs
Unlike other accelerometer-based performance meters, Dynolicious uses the advanced data-handling and display capabilities of the iPhone to make the most of your performance testing. Dynolicious maintains a history of test runs, showing you averages and trends in your results. Dynolicious also allows you to enter modifications performed to your vehicle, and will instantly show before-and-after results to easily identify gains or losses.

I think I saw it in the past but it didn't get good reviews (or maybe that was another one)...perhaps this version is much better...looks really cool!!

Good find...do you also have the MotionX GPS? Has tons of features...I just have to figure them out!

It should work just as good as these I would think.

Right now I have a iway 600 but I ordered a Zumo 660

I have the zumo 550 but got the Motion GPS for the iphone...has some extra features...

As far as the zumo 660 goes, enjoy...I would love to get the latest and greatest whenever they come out, but can't do so right now...I'll have to wait for the 770 in a year or two... :D

I do have the Motion GPS but I haven't played with it too much.

how well does it work ??? i have a mount for iphone havent tried any programs like this yet ...but i do have a couple on phone already:coffee:

I'm going to try it tomorrow.

I figure my weight wet with rider is about 950lbs
Drivetrain loss should be about 15%

Those are good numbers to start with. I'll let you know how close it is to this.

I have a veypor. Not sure how your iphone is supposed to read RPM. The Veypor uses rpm input, g forces and rear tire speed.

Works pretty darn well. Nice to do 0-60 runs for fun.

For $13 I would have tried one if I had an i-phone!

They both use a accelerometer to come up with the same data. The Veypor just has more input data like rpm.

Yup - should give pretty close data. I read up on the Veypor quite a bit before I bought it and they are pretty darn accurate.

Did yours have you 'calibrate' it by 'rolling' the phone in different ways?

When I do the 0-60 runs they can be auto-start by when you start moving, or using a standard tree. Obviously the auto start times have a bit of an advantage.

Hell - for what the Veypor cost I could have had the whole I-phone! GRRRR!

Don't tell me the butt dyno is obsolete! Who woulda thought it could be replaced by the cell phone? :D I think I'm too old for all this! next thing you'll tell me is that there are motorcycles with two wheels in front. :D

Yep, calibration was the same. It has both auto start and a tree type start where it will let you roll 12" or so before it starts.
Here's the docs on it.

Scotty,

You're too much...:2thumbs:

After almost 2 years, have you still been using dynolicious? I just noticed the thread today. I have an Itouch and if you have anything good to say about it, I'll probably buy the app. Or, was it a bust?

Holy moly Batman...you were really doing a deep search to find this thread! The iphone doesn't even exist anymore...it's a relic! :D

Man that would be great to see the differance from stock, and then after you add a Juice Box or a new muffler .

I'm kidding! I have an iphone 4 and love it! I was just teasing you as this thread is almost 2 years old...was trying to figure out how you dug it up? I try the 'search' tab every once in a while and can never find anything...

Someone in another thread was interested in 'auto start' for his SE5 and I did a search.
