• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Red RT now available in Michigan

That looks fantastic... man oh man does it need all that gray powder-coat turned to chrome or Matte black.. That gray is just nasty on the Red...

Mine is at the dealer, but no sense in uncrating it as yet. We can hardly drive down the street, since they have not plowed since the ice storm. Until yesterday there was still a wire hanging low across half the road, directly opposite my driveway, so even if I could get the trailer out, I couldn't have made it past the wire. Looks like a couple of weeks before I can even think about bringing it home in the trailer, much less riding it.

I have to admit that I am worried. When my dealer asked about the delivery date, a couple of weeks ago, he was told that they had halted production, due to problems, and wouldn't restart until the first week of March. That means they either re-started earlier than they thought, or else I have one of the ones that slipped off the line prior to finding the problems that had to be corrected. I don't need another problem child! This one will get a close inspection before any paperwork is signed.

They are gorgeous, though, aren't they? Pictures still don't do the color justice. I don't mind the silver/gray at all. No chrome, though...I hate to polish that shiny stuff!

We have the same problem here with a slushy/icy road. The red does look great in person and I really like the look of the smaller windshield.

I was at CowTown the other day to pick up some shocks and they where in the process of un-crating a red one.. I must say when they say red they really mean it,, Its a PRETTY Red for sure.. Not sure of the official name of the color but it appears to be a few shades off from Candy Apple Red to me... Very pretty..

You'll like Town & Country...I've dealt with them for a long time and they've always treated me great.....Consider ourselves lucky from what i've been reading on the forums.

agreed, i didnt actually buy my red rts from them but obviously ended up there to get it fixed.....a real shame that other dealers dont mind selling them, but when you need them for an issue..forget it. :dontknow:

Works the other way too, a guy will go down the road to buy a little cheaper but wants the good dealer to do the work because they don't trust the cheaper dealer. I say support the good dealers even if they are not the cheapest. :doorag:

:agree:But it seems like some want it cheap, then like to complain about the lack of service from that dealer.:lecturef_smilie:

Good dealers don't stay in business by selling bikes - they sell bikes to bring the customers in foe service, parts, & accessories. Those dealers with poor service, product knowledge, don't stay in business, unless there's no where else for customers to go.

:thumbup:i agree with lamonster, i am guilty of that a time or two in my life! not the case with the rts (i only bought from the dealer i did becuase they had one coming in) but i suppose i should have waited for town and country. good news is though i am buying my fiancee a red leftover 2010 from town and country! should be picking it up this weekend. hopefully the rts will be done in service then too. anyway, thats a great point about price!

i suppose price is a one time thing.....service is a lifetime thing!!

I bake cookies for the service folks at Town & Country when I bring my spydie in for service...wonder if that helps with the great service I get....

Good, Fast or Cheap?

You only get to pick two.

Good and Fast won't be Cheap

Fast and Cheap wont be Good.

Good and Cheap won't be Fast.

Unfortunatly most people seem to think they can get all 3 everytime, and in most cases it just won't happen.

:agree:I always support the good dealers, when I buy my toys I expect to be taking them back to the same dealer that I originally bought from. One local dealer has a sign hanging in his dealership that reads "We service what We sell first" and he does .

My :spyder: dealer is by far not the cheapest around but he sells a lot of :spyder::spyder::spyder::spyder:and has customers that come from all over Ontario to deal with him.
