• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I just had the dealer install the BRP GPS system and I cant get the sound to the helmet, it only comes out the external speakers. I have the speakers turned off. I have the BRP CB/Comm and ST-1 helmets. What am I doing wrong?

Nothing, it doesn't play through the headsets. :dontknow:

I am getting a CB and GPS dealer installed on my '11 RT-S. I told the dealer I wanted all necessary wiring for these units and for my helmet...I expect to be able to hear both units...will I?

I just received a phone call from Carlo at BRP. He said the BRP CB/Comm System is totally integrated with the BRP GPS system and harness. Carlo said the GPS should be able to heard on either the headset or external speakers based on the settings of the console control panel. He suggested I take the bike back to the installing dealer to verify the installation was done correctly and remind the dealer that BRP dealer support is available if needed.

Again, I would like to thank Carlo and BRP for the professional and personal service I have received.

Stay tuned. I'm in process of showing how I have bike audio, my TomTom and my iPhone, all coming to my Bluetooth helmet simultaneously.

Here's a teaser.....

The MiniMax IV is a nice audio mixer. I assume you will be connecting the output to a bluetooth transmitter. What BB device are you planning on using?

I have the 11 RTS dealer installed CB, I installed the GPS with the harness supplied by BRP and the GPS comes through the headsets no problem. I have the J&M headsets and cords. I mentioned the CB because I do not know if the audio cable that is required with the CB is also what makes the GPS work in the headsets.

Just some information, but no. The entertainment harness and the GPS cable are separate and distinct parts that need to be purchased separately. DAMHIKT:D

I know they are seperate parts and need to be purchased seperatly. I was mentioning the cable needed for the CB, because my GPS works fine in the headsets and was wondering if both parts needed to be purchased (seperatly) in order for the GPS to work in the headsets. I hope that clears up any confusion regarding my previoius post.

Oh, now I think I understand your question.

The entertainment harness is what's needed to connect the sound system to the headsets. In addition, the entertainment harness lets you connect a sattelite radio to the sound system. I don't think you can just install the entertainment harness and get the radio through the headsets. I think this is all managed through the CB, so you need to have the CB/Intercom module as well.

The GPS cable connects the GPS to the sound system independantly.

So, if you only have the GPS connected to your system, the GPS will come through the speakers. Once you install the CB/Intercom/Entertainment Harness, the GPS along with all the other audio signals can come through the headsets.

Sorry for the confusion. I can be dense sometimes. Just ask any of my ex-wives.

As always, my free advice comes with a double your money back guarantee.

Another question. Does anyone that uses the BRP CB/Comm and BRP GPS/Nav system WITH the J&M headset, NOT have GPS directions go to the headset? Is the BRP headset the problem, maybe an early model headset? Maybe an early model of the GPS harness? I am just throwing questions out there while waiting for my appointment athe the dealer. The dealer told me they are going to call BRP for guidness and was hoping to help them along with some troubleshooting. Thanks

That's a good question. I have the early GPS and BRP headset and the GPS does not play through the headset. If they changed things as reported above I would like to know, I haven't heard that they did. :dontknow:

Just got back from the dealer who did some diagnostics that BRP recommended. None of them worked. Dealer called BRP with the results and are awaiting a call back from them. I will say BRP and the dearler are committed to solving the GPS to headset issue. Thanks good for all of us.

Additional info needed

While we're on this subject, I'm in the process of mounting a 3.5mm weather proof receptacle up front between the rocker switches so that I can plug my I-Phone/I-Pod into so that I can listen to music through the Rt speakers and have the I-Phone close where I can control it. In order to do this, I'm running a set of wires from the rear trunk and using the BRP supplied mp-3 cord. Could I purchase a GPS receptacle and mount it there and use the BRP supplied I-Phone/I-pod connector cable instead?

GPS Headset Update

I just got a call from the dealer. The dealer said they just talked to the BRP Techs and I need to bring my bike in for more diagnostics. I will keep you guys informed.
