• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Rear-view camera/display for RT pulling a Camper

CyncySpyder

Teddys favorite human
I know I saw a post somewhere where a member had installed a rearview camera system to aid in ryde'n while pulling a camper/trailer. After numerous searches here & EBay & the net, I still can't find a system that has a weather-proof display. Most all have weather-proof cameras, some wireless even, but I haven't been able to locate any with a weather-proof display that you could mount on the RT dash. Since I've disconnected my analogue temp/gas gauges, I'd love to use a ram-mount in place of one gauge & mount the display for a camera system to help aid in keep'n an eye on things around me, since my camper is actually larger in size than my RTS. Would be even better to find a multiple camera system so I could use one for the road & another to keep an eye on Teddy see'n as he'll sometimes be ryde'n IN the camper & others on the back seat. Sadly, when I wear my full face helmet, I can't see him when I turn to look to make sure all is fine.

For the other disconnected gauge, I'd love to be able to mount a gps, again thinking of using a Ram-Mount system to accomplish this, that way all displays are easily viewable with a quick glance without actually having to look down between the handlebars.

So, all you mod ppl all there, let me here your thoughts on this. Am I just dream'n or is this something I could do w/out breaking the bank?:hun: I know there's a lot of ppl with tons more knowledge about these things than I, so that's why I'm ask'n. Any input is much appreciated:bowdown:

I love SpyderLovers. Ask a ? & get a reply in 1 minute :)

Interesting concept, tho no info on price, length of cord or ordering on their site. And see'n as its designed for an actual bicycle, & not being wireless, I doubt the length of cable would be near enough to go all the way to the trailer.

Guess I'm look'n for something wireless & with multiple cameras so I can change locations easily depending on what I'm pulling & where Teddy is ryde'n.

Thanks for the site tho, as it is one I've not been to & it is a good concept if all else fails :2thumbs:

Tadi Brothers

You might want to take a look at this site if you are searching for wireless back up cameras that can handle multiple camera hook ups to a single small monitor.

http://www.tadibrothers.com/Products/View/SKU33468

The Hindsight 30 looks like the wired answer, but if you are patient the Hindsight 50, which is currently on the drawing boards, might fit the bill for your combined GPS and Back Up camera needs.

Although all of the cameras are waterproof it appears that you would still have to enclose the LCD monitor in an aqua box of some sort as mentioned above.

Good Luck in your search, and keep us posted if you find something that fits the bill.

What you want currently does not exist. I have looked.

The unit sold by the TadiBrothers site I bought at Sams Club for my truck. The reception was terrible and I eventually removed it to reside somewhere in my garage.

I think whatever you wind up with will be something clever you create.

:gaah: I concede that you are right, but I'm not giving up yet. Like you said, I'll have to come up with something. Gotta send this :cus:POS system I ordered from AMAZON back for a refund, and try, try again :helpsmilie:

Agreed. I have looked high and low for a backup camera that can can then feed into my iPhone that would be sitting in my Gizmo mount. iPhone will not accespt external video input (I just don't want more screens in front of me).

OMG OMG ***IT DOES EXIST***

I've been look'n for weeks & I finally found it :yes:Tho, it's either gonna be totally outta my price range :gaah: as their Website talks about Funding & need'n Grants:helpsmilie: or it's just totally unavailable for consumer purchase :cus::(:cus: But it does seem to be everything I've been look'n for  I've got a call in, but will have to wait til Monday to find out anything :banghead::wrong::banghead::trike:

Why not look for something that an ice fiusherman might throw down the hole to see what's lurking around? More watertight than a frong's bung...

Tadi Bros. is 24/7

So yeah, at 2am this morning, I was still researching this issue, and saw that Tadi Bros. advertises on their site 24/7 support/sales/questions, so what the :cus: why not give em a call. Well, I was surprised when a real live person answered the phone at 2am :yikes: and he was rather knowledgable about their products and we came up with a system that would be able to work, tho as others have suggested, I would have to have the monitor mounted in an Aqua-box type of device, tho it wouldnt be too limited, as there 7" system comes with a remote and you can have anywhere from 1-4 wireless waterproof cameras. Still, pricewise, look'n close to $500+.

If anyone out there knows, I'm not sure what size screen would be able to fit best into the recess area of the anologue gas/temp guage, & still be able to be seen well, especially if using a split screen for at least 2 cameras? One to keep watch over Teddy and the other for the camper and area around/behind it?

Also (I know I need to call Ram Mounts), but does anyone know if they (or another Company) makes a mount that would easily fit into the area where the anologue temp/gas guage would be removed? I looked at their site, but got overwhelmed try'n to find what would fit :gaah: and trying to figure out the whole powering of these sytems as well???:dontknow:

Again, any info/advice is greatly appreciated

Some More Pics Of Moto-Mate Camper

Thought I'd take a couple more pics to show the size of this Camper. Its roughly the same size as the RT-S & is actually Taller :yikes: but still within load/weight parameters for towing :2thumbs:

Haven't been able to confirm price of motorcycle unit yet. I left an email a few days ago, but no return contact. I tried calling today & they are closed due to the weather :gaah: so I'm still try'n to find out a price & if the system is available for regular citizens or just Gvmnt. use :dontknow:
