• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

This may sound nuts but my little 6 year old grand daughter love to tide with me. She has all the safety equipment but I have thought that having a seat belt to snug her into the seat would be a safer way to ride. Has anyone done this or have any ideas?

There's a belt that you ware with handles that she can hold on to,That's as far is i would go.
In My opinion i would never strap anyone to a bike/Spyder. Also make sure her feet firmly reach the foot pegs.

I urge you not to do this...at least not for more than idling down the driveway. A motorcycle/Spyder passenger should be old enough to be aware of the traffic, curves, and possible hazards, should pay full attention, and should be old enough to reach the footrests and hold on to the grab bars. She needs proper protective gear, which is not available in children's sizes. I might add that in a traffic accident the likelihood of being severely injured rises dramatically on a vehicle with a saddle and no seat belts. How would you feel if you got in a traffic accident through no fault of your own, and she was seriously injured? Wait until she is at least 10-12 or so.

It's what I have for my son when he rides with me. It has worked very well and keeps him right up against me with the help of the backrest.

While I agree with Scotty's opinion about kids riding as a passenger, I also take into consideration what the child knows and can handle. My son is 6 and already has his own 4-wheeler that he actually knows how to operate. Does he know every single thing there is to know about riding? Of course not but he knows the basics such as how to lean, ride and such.

To add to that I do not take him out on the interstate or highway at high speeds. Sure an accident can happen at anytime and any place, even on a slow moving city street but the same can be said for walking down the sidewalk.

Anyway, here is the link if you want to look into it.

as a retired cop, I would STRONGLY urge you NOT to put a small child on a bike. you can put all the safety gear you want, on them; but if they fall off or get thrown off... you won't be able to handle it. please make sure that your passenger is safe. and this is not a safe situation for a six year old. no matter how you slice it....

and to show you how stupid we grow them in TN. last summer, I watched rider, in shorts, no shirt and flip flops (and helmet), with a small child, in leathers, H-D boots, helmet on a crotch rocket. the rider hit the hwy at pretty close to 75 mph, and was giving the child a thirll ride.

then the blue lights on a state trooper came up, pulled him over, and stuffed him in the back of the patrol car; and hooked a wrecker to the bike. the child went into the custody of social service, until the mother could be located.

this dumbass... had the child straddled across the gas tank; to keep him from falling off the backseat.

plase don't risk the child's safety. let them get a couple of more years on them. they'll enjoy it more...

in my opinion...

Never put my kid on my bike (in the past), but my wife told me that my brother-in-law would and his son would fall asleep. People would drive by honking at him, but he thought it was cute. I am just glad he never fell off.

I'm down here in Puerto Vallarta, Mx. for a while and what I see would curl your hair. Take a picture of this: A father (with helmet), a 6 yr. old (no helmet) standing in front and between his legs, a 4 yr. old (no helmet) behind him, his wife (no helmet) behind the 4 yr. old and an infant in a backpack on the mother. That's five people all on a 125 cc scooter!!! It's a very common sight. I guess dad wears the helmet because he's the one who can make more babies if the rest of the family doesn't survive an accident. I have seen variations of this hundreds of times over the years. Thank God for US laws.

Ride in comfort,

John

I just put a bungie cord around my Granddaughters who are 8 and 5, and only ride them in the drive way and back, they use their bike helmets, and I think that is about as far as you should think about riding a child that young, they love it and do get an idea of how great it will be when they get older. Be safe.

I use to strap my DooLittle in her carry case, but no longer, I just zip the front closed and she can
peer out the side. Heck she doesn't even have to wear the doggles anymore either :D

No seat belts, and will have to see if she likes the arm rests.

As a side note i pushed the wrong button earlier this week and wiped out 90% of the previous photos I had posted.:hun:

I agree with what NancysToy says, be extra safe.

Looking at your Corbin armrests... The RH one looks as if it has some snaps on the end of it... If they are, and you could add snaps to the LH sde... Throw a strap between them to contain the riders who are a bit on the short side maybe?? If things got real ugly they're not strapped down solid to bike...

(I like that stitching pattern too!)
