There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Used RT-S?

I think this is more of a vent than a question, but anywayyyy....I bought my 2010 RT-S in March 2010. When I had not seen a wel-come pack after 6+ months I called BRP. They looked up the VIN and said it was still in the dealership's name. Went to the dealership and they contacted a BRP representative and transferred the info into my name and that I should receive a wel-come pack. Did a follow up call to BRP today to see if the Spyder is in my name and if I would be receiving a wel-come pack still. They told me that I was not the first owner of the Spyder and that the dealership was the first owner and that they should have received the wel-come pack. Hmmmmmmm.......so if I wasn't the first owner did I buy a Spyder RT-S at full retail price for one that BRP considers used since I'm not the original owner? I know it's petty and all, just wanted to register on the BRP website and all that stuff. Wonder if they will give me a serious deal on a trailer for the RT-S? (if it's not used)

Sounds bizarre for sure; with what I went through with the "stealership" I half expected the same thing to happen to me. I'm not even sure what to tell you except I hope you get it resolved to your satisfaction. :dontknow:

How many miles were on your Spyder when you got it? Could it possibly been a Demo unit?

I am very new here. What is a wel-come pack that you speak of....?

Hi George,
The wel-come pack is what BRP sends you when you buy the Spyder. What comes with it? I have no clue because I never received one. :dontknow:
Also, I spell "wel-come" with a dash because when I spell it without the dash I get this: welcome

:hun: That makes no sense. Then all "dealers" would be the 1st owners. How
many miles were on the OD? I bought my RTS new from a dealer (watched
them uncrate it & put it together) & I was titled as the 1st owner & got my
welcome pack ( granted after about 6 months) I think something is up with your dealer, especially since they didn't transfer it correctly the 1st tyme.

I actually posted pics of the welcome pack on here somewhere :dontknow: but you get a nice little box filled with a glossy picture of a new RTS along with a small SpyderRyder patch, your membership card with your "special" code # so that you can register on the BRP SpyderRyders website along with about a dozen pocket sized Spyder fold out mini-brochures to give out to all the ppl that are going to be crowding you anytime you stop. Seems like I'm forget'n something, but that's the jist of it, nothing major, just something nice tho.

Oh yeah, George, don't forget about SpyderTyme once you get your New Spyder. You will have to get used to spending at least an extra 10-20 minutes every time you stop, where there are ppl around, cause total strangers will undoubtedly approach you & start ask'n questions :hun: I think most of us have gotten used to it, but to some, it's a real pain in the :cus: cause it does take more time to stop anywhere. Ahhhh yes, another joy of the SpyderLover

These are the pics I posted of when I got my Welcome Packet from BRP for my new RTS. Granted, mine was a 2010, so they may change things for the 2011 models  & :welcome: Oh, and the thing I forgot was the lil SpyderRyders Lapel Pin.

Mine was a demo. I've didn't know a wel-come pack came with it. I will talk to my dealer about how I can register with BRP

I bought mine used and I was able to register on the BRP site and I received a welcome pack. I threw the box on a shelf somewhere and will someday throw it in the trash it really isn't anything special. I think the biggest reason they send it is that they hope you will pass the info cards out to prospective purchasers.

You might try mailing in the change of owner page from the back of the owners' manual. I sent that in mostly for warranty purposes.

I bought my '09 GS as a demo unit with 700+ miles. The dealer had registered the GS and the warranty had started three months earlier. I still received the welcome packet after 3 months. Sounds like you have an issue with the dealer not doing something right in their paperwork.

Sounds like to me that it was registered as a demo and sold to you as a "BRAND NEW UNIT" from the dealer. Really the dealer should have told you that it was a demo unit. If BRP has it registered as a demo unit than it must be a demo unit.
From what the local dealers tell me, BRP wants to know what units they have registered as demo units.

I'll definitely do that! Thank you!

Yeah, didn't find out it was a demo unit until like 6 months later. The sales person who sold it to me is long gone. I'm not gonna cry about it now after reading everyone's responses. The dealership has been good to me though; gave me two Scorpion helmets for free, Can Am riding jacket and pants for free, 50% off on everything I've actually bought there (gloves, jacket for the girlfriend, little highway bells etc). Was a morning vent I can put behind me now! Thank you all for your input!

I am glad that the dealership has been good to you. Maybe that same salesperson has lied to other customers too.
I am glad that it is behind you now so you can enjoy your:spyder:.:2thumbs:

Original owner

Not sure if this applies but when we purchased our "NEW" motorhome from the dealer we filled out all the warranty papers when we took possession. Later when we took the motorhome in for some repairs the manufacture said that the warranty only applied to the first owner.nojoke It seems that our dealer had purchased the motorhome from another dealer who was going out of business. Thus the dealership we purchased it from was listed as the original owner since they did not get the unit directly from the manufacture. :yikes: We spent 3 months trying to get warranty repairs on a "NEW" unit. After a call and letter from our lawyer things moved forward. We returned the original motorhome to the dealer and received a new model from their lot. It seems a new unregistered unit purchased or acquired from another dealer might not be considered new by the manufacture. We also found out that if a motorhome is displayed at an RV show by the dealer it is now classified as a demo and cannot be sold as new. Lots of quirks in the retail sales world.
