I'm in the same boat el capitain...I'm not ready yet but the instructions look pretty good.I'm putting them on both our bikes.I might contact them about sending them the seats for install. Not sure yet.:dontknow:well my backrest finally arived, now what do i do? have a 2010 RT only 4100 miles and scared to death i will ruin the seat. has anyone near deland fl installed a utopia backrest that would assist me?:dontknow:
I installed the backrest with no difficulties. A friend did point out one issues with the backrest I had not considered. If it rains, the water will go into the seat where the cut was made for the backrest, and potentially ruin it, since the water will get into the foam with no real way to dry out properly.
Has anyone else considered this? Obviously at this juncture there is nothing I can do about it, but if I had thought of it, OI may not have installed the backrest even though it is very comfortable.
U KEN Du iT!!thanks everyone all of you have been very helpful i will dive in and do it . will let you know capt jim.
Once installed, is it easy to remove when you have a passenger?:dontknow:

I have one on my RT and NO, you don't need to remove it for the passenger. It folds down/forward and there is plenty of room for the passenger after she/he sits down and the backrest is returned to an upright position....
BIKER DOC will be there on the 29th (weather permitting) if i havent put the backrest on will bring with me. thanks capt jim.:spyder:well my backrest finally arived, now what do i do? have a 2010 RT only 4100 miles and scared to death i will ruin the seat. has anyone near deland fl installed a utopia backrest that would assist me?:dontknow:
How did you remove the foam. I screwed up the threads trying to start the bolts..I have done the back rest, you can't hurt the seat. The big problems are removing the seat and cutting the hole thru the seat. Follow the directions and remove the foam where the bracket goes thru the seat. The foam is hard to remove and enough of it has to come out for the bracket to be installed. It took me a couple hours but it is well worth it. Great product.:2thumbs:
