• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My wife went to Elk Grove Power Sports this past Saturday and put a deposit on a 2011 RTS. It's the one only available in white. Anyway, as I ride a Goldwing, we will need communication between bikes. I was wondering what other's are doing for bike-to-bike comms.

scala riders are the best in my opinion. Used a #2 for the last couple of years. Tried the new #4 when it first came out--mine did not work well so returned it. Also ordered a Chatterbox outfit--but did not like that either. We stuck with the Scala #2. Have not heard any bad stuff in the last few months on the #4's, so they must have got the bugs worked out.
 
We use the Starcom1 for rider-to-rider intercom. We have tried it with FRS/GMRS radios for bike-to-bike, with little success. That may be due to the particular radios, the locations on the bikes, conflicts of the PTT with the VOX, or a combination of those, but I would not go this route. Not sure how CB radios would work with the Starcom1...which is superior in all other respects. If you are going to continue to wish to communicate with a Goldwing you may prefer CB. There are a few aftermarket systems, plus the BRP CB/Comm System.
 
I have Scala 2. One of the best. Don't be agraid to check the internet. You can find some out there at really good prices. Congratulation on the new Spyder.

I agree! Someone asked me once if my husband and I communicated while riding I said we have been communicating for 20 years now its time for a break.

Love the white RTS just wish it came in a manual. Congrats and welcome.
 
You can use the CB on both machines. I do this when riding with my pals on Wings. I also use the Scala rider when I'm riding my aprilia.

We used the Scala Q2 and just upgraded to the Q4.
