• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Wooo Whoooo!!! Picked up our RS-S Copper/Black SE5

Thank you everyone... Installed two of the mods this morning... Can Am's Side air wings and comfort seat... Poring today and I do not want the first few miles to be ugly road spray. To many mods to do and I want a clean ryde... Anyway... here are a few "Cheap" pics from my Epic cell phone...

That's a nice bike. These new RS-S' are going to look stupid with touring crap on them though. They're really sporty looking stock.

:congrats:

That picture looks great! I am scheduled to visit the dealer on January 14 for the DPS replacement. I sure hope he doesn't have one of these sitting on the showroom floor, as I need to come home with my wallet in tact as much as possible. :D

:2thumbs:

I can hear it now, ahh Honey? Remember all those mods? I gotta start over!:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

:congrats: Great color combo and I like the way they switched the paint, with the black on top and the bronze to below the trunk.

Thanks everyone... The tough part now is all the questioning we get at stop lights... :roflblack: I want to ryde not stop traffic :2thumbs:

This color combination gets more "Conversations" going than the RT ever did. Part of it could be that I am one of very few driving anything else besides a car or truck. We buy to ryde, not store.

Anyway... Wife is very unhappy with the RS. We may have to get an RT again sooner than later... I will try a backrest and find a kit to lower the passenger pegs so she is not in the crunch position and see if that helps... :opps::cus:

Best of luck with getting it comfortable enough for your wife as the passenger. The backrest should help a lot, as it will relieve the fear of falling off the back, and having to cling to you for support.

Thank you... Today we pick up the Two Brothers kit and the peg extenders. The weather calls for more snow so no ryding today :gaah:. I figure this weekend I will mount a lot of these items and go from there.

The trunk showed up yesterday and frankly looks much better than I expected it to. I plan to add "Quick" disconnecting bolt heads of some type (Still needing to research those) that will allow me to remove the trunk when only ryding one up, and four clicks later I can have it re-mounted for two up ryding...

Unfortunately when I ordered my KewlMetal trunk mount system one part was "Borrowed" for another buyer and we are waiting for that piece/part to be manufactured so they can send me a complete kit... :(

So hopefully all of these tweaks will at least give her a safer feeling as a ryder, at least enough to still enjoy ryding together until we get a second Spyder.

Are you also going to be getting her a set of good quality ear plugs, or earphones for her MP3 player? The Two Brothers set up is not something I usually see fit into the comfort mods category. :roflblack: I do understand the power tip can quiet it down a bit, but have no personal experience with that.

We are currently under a blanket of ice that has been here for 2 days. It is bad enough that most of us have been told to not even try reporting for work. It has been many years since I have seen snow more than 1 time the whole winter, and this ice is a totally different story. The tops of several trees on our property have broken off due to the extra weight, so it will be interesting to see the total results of the damage once things thaw out again. Stay warm, and ryde safe.

The Two Brothers exhaust... We had it on the RT and looooooved it. Most of the folks that ever listened to it commented on how "Just right" the sound and sound level was. It seemed to please the majority by a wide margin.

That said. Even folks that are not fans of exhaust (Prefer stealth) found themselves drawn to it.

Now I have not yet heard the dual in person, and it is my understanding that we will be one of the first to get this newer version of the system. We are going to be "Ambassadors" of sorts. So we plan to do a little review along the way.

We purchased the new Top Tune kit as well and plan to find the best solution for sound and sound level as we did with the RT.

At the end of the day, personally, I cannot own a new (Non vintage) motorcycle with a wimpy sounding system on it. That is like buying a sports car and having a Honda civic exhaust on it... nojoke Of course I am not a fan of the "To Loud" systems, but I am of the "Just right" systems.

SPYDERWOLF

From what you say I believe you have more snow than I do up here in Maine. Our roads are dry and there are a lot of bare spots in the fields. Most of the lakes still have open water areas on them. Crazy weather everywhere. Hang in there I'm sure you will be riding before long.

Firstly, many congrats on the new "Ryde"...She's real slick.

Next and more importantly(did I say that?)....Keep your wife happy!!!It will make the mod$ to your new Ryde much more doable in the future!Get the RT if that's what it takes.:roflblack: I speak from experience.
Enjoy!

PS:Please pardon the edit.

Thanks! :ohyea:

With us buying a home right now... This stopped us from being a two Spyder family for a while. Originally we planned to get another RS or RT this spring. That changed to just an RS (For me) now and getting the RT later (For her)... So for now I need to just find the "Happy" spot so both of us are happy.

In all reality... We think one RT and one RS is the perfect solution. My concern is... One I get all the accessories mounted and tweaked on this RS-S my wife will be driving it more often than not... Making me ride shotgun... And my bum was not made for that :roflblack: But such is life!:shemademe_smilie:

I understand that completely, and my exhaust was also one of the first mods I did. I wish you the best with getting the right combination you are looking for.

My understanding is the storm system that did this to us will be hitting your area very soon, and you may be getting more than a foot of snow with it. :gaah: That might set your temps, and snow levels, back to where they are supposed to be at this time of year. I am supposed to take my Spyder in on Friday for the new DPS, and they say it may only be 15 degrees here when I need to leave my house. :helpsmilie: I know it is winter, but this has been a very strange winter indeed.

Picked up the Exhaust kit today... Man oh man the craftsmanship is awesome. Cannot wait to get time to install them :2thumbs:...

:congrats: Awsome ride. The color is growing on me! I will be interested in how this new machine rides, feels etc. as opposed to the Spyder you had before also! Enjoy.

I've got a Roadster Red 08 SE5 and boy the first year i had it I should have been a paid sales person I answered so many questions from peoples. And then there is the ones that yell or point at ya lol yours with that new unique color and the RS-S emblems your really gonna stand out
Lol people are gonna harass you big time get used to the questions it's all good. I love my Spyder best 21k I ever spent in my life

Well I am at almost 40 whole miles now! :yikes: hahahahaha... Dang snow and bad weather. Almost like it is winter or something... Global warming is catching up to us I guess :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Anyway... As many know there is no comparison to the RS & RT. The RS to me feels very small. Almost go-cart like. faaaaaaaar more fun to drive (I am a sporty kind of driver)

The front suspension is week and will be replaced sooner than later. The comfort seat is night and day better.

It is clear they tried to make the RS as "Motorcycle" like as possible. To me it feels this way in many ways IMHO... The RT is such a wonderful touring machine it breaks our heart we do not have one right now. We even spoke about it for over an hour last night. This just means we have to be strong and willing to wait. We most likely will buy one from the used market late fall or next spring. As the home will take priority for a while.
