• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How do you know new DPS was done?

Called my dealer and spoke to service. The DPS can be seen when you look under the front and where the steering parts are. If the DPS unit looks new, then it is. If not, then it's your old one. But, if it looks new, it may still not be the right one if you can't tell the difference. Not trying to confuse you, I hope this helps.

Mine was clean when I removed the trunk---- wouldn't have been able to tell if it was new or old.

My invoice shows the old DPS serial number, new DPS serial number, method of return to BRP, shipping tracking number date of replacement, date of claim and claim number, vehicle hours, vehicle mile and VIN.

No question in my mind about replacement, but then again I'm one of the lucky ones with an outstanding dealer and staff.

Congratulations on having such a smart dealer... He'll keep you as a customer for a very long time...

Good Service

I shall just ask for a receipt for my 'records' first. If they provide one, no problem. If they say it was not actually done now, they lied again and I go to BRP, the DA, and every consumer agency I can think of. Lieing about a necessary recall replacement is fraud at best and criminal at worst. I am tired of being the victim here.

This place has a rotten rep and there is no other dealer that I know of close. Certainly need to find one within a couple hours. I know Cuba and Cowtown are 4.5 hours away but I would like something closer. Anyone know of a good dealer/service center within 2-3 hours of NE Oklahoma. Near Tulsa.

For those of you with honest and competent dealers thank your lucky stars.

I don't know of any good servicing dealers within your distance parameter. I live in OK, 265 mile from the dealer that does it right. I scheduled my 2009 SM5 with Amarillo Outdoor Power Equip. last Friday AM. Mark Huber, owner, performed the DPS replacement by lunch, as scheduled, and my wife and I were on our way to Palo Duro Canyon to re-learn to ride the Spyder. It now has silky smooth steering, almost effortless. You'll know if the DPS is replaced. It was a real pleasant experience. Done right the first time, and on time. Thanks Mark. You are a craftsman. I think BRP got it right this time.:2thumbs:

They claimed it was just an oversight and are mailing me a copy of the invoice. Actually they tried to blame me as if I lost it or something but they always have a defensive posture.

Here is a suggestion. When you get the "corrected" invoice, take a ride to Cuba and have them check it out. You will now have 2 invoices from your dealer and a report from Cuba. If they did not change the DPS, you gottem.

Mark and I exchanged some ideas over a year ago. He is 101% customer driven. He knows how to build up a business. No successful motorcycle dealership is ever successful through the front door. It's the back door (service) that keeps the front door open.

I like Jacumba's way. Does anyone know a mechanic or service center like that within riding distance of near Tulsa Oklahoma?

There is a Bradford Marine in Springdale, Arkansas.........that's about a 2 hour or so ride from you if you're around Tulsa.
I deal with the Bradford's in Little Rock, and they're a quality dealership with an exemplary service dept........ I'm sure the one in Springdale is top notch, as well !!

I just got back from my first extended ride after the DPS replacement. Unless it's my imagination, the steering is more sensitive at higher speeds. While taking sweepers at 60 MPH, I had difficulty maintaining a smooth line.

I should go back out and practice some more. :D
