• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The Silver Bullet

Glad the RT is feeling good to both of you. Like Jennifer, my wife really enjoys the comfort of the RT. I'm like you, it takes me a while to adjust to the different posture required on a new ride. Hope you enjoy the cruise control as much as I do. I've had a number of different throttle locks but never a true cruise control on a motorcycle before. I love it.

Spent some time yesterday to familiarize myself with what I read in the Owner's Manual and how it looks on the RT. Pulling off the panel to check the oil and the opposite panel for the radiator was easy enough. I also found that all the grommets were there. I checked the air in the front tires...17 pounds, aired up to 20. Checked the air in rear tire...25, aired up to 30. That's the pressure I prefer. Surprise of all, checked the air in the rear shock..."0" zero! (Explains why the Spyder rode so rough when we did the 250 mile run Friday). So, I aired up the rear shock to 28 pounds. Took a ride to the casino yesterday afternoon and what a difference! And sure enough, when I got home, BOTH rear grommets were gone from the 2 panels I had removed! lol So, today is a good reason to ride to the dealer's (70 miles) to get them replaced! I much prefer the way the GS/RS panels are secured. No chance of them ever coming off because a grommet came off.

:congrats: Dudley and Jennifer. I hope you have as many happy trouble free miles on your RT as you two have previously enjoyed on your RS .

If you check the rear shock again and it is down, It should be checked for leaks and repaired. There is a repair kit available for the fittings, although some Spyders have also needed a new air shock. You should adjust the suspension pressure to the values shown in the new chart in Warranty Campaign bulletin 2010-6. The grommets should be glued in place, also per Warranty Campaign bulletin 2010-6. As an alternative, you can just use some RTV silicone.
