• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Warranty seat replacement

I have PE 511 RTS the seat has gone south on it ride now got in the new seat to replace it. BRP told them that the PE seats were a one time thing. So the new seat does not have my PE number or spyder on it. I dished out the money for a premiere edition spyder. Why are they going to take that away from us if you need your seat warranted. Has anyone out there been told this.

PE Seat

I'd be curious to know how your RT PE seat "went south." I can see how they might say the PE seat embroidery was a one-time thing. Wouldn't make it 'special' if they duplicated it. Perhaps you could have someone embroider it back in if it means that much to you, or somehow salvage the embroidered portion of your previous seat and have it stitched on. Dunno. I have a PE. I'll be replacing it with a Corbin RT for next year. No one ever remarks about the "PE factor." It didn't cost any more than an RT-S with the same accutrements. It's certainly registered with BRP as such.

My seat is bad, too. As of two weeks ago there was no cure, but I was told by a high source at BRP that they now have someone to duplicate the PE panel for them (as of just this week). Your dealer wouldn't be aware yet. If you need assistance, contact Carlo.

No one has said yet what went wrong with their seat??

Here is what went wrong with my seat. The part at the back of your but and the bottom of the back rest has came loose plus there is a lump at the pass front. The drives seat is now very loose to.

The stitching on my stock seat began pulling apart:gaah:. I replaced the seat with a custom Corbin Seat:2thumbs:. BRP allowed about $250 Warranty. New seat cost about $850. Net out-of-pocket = $600.:sour:

There is velcro at the rear crease in the driver's portion of the seat. Try stretching the material and pressing at the seam. You will feel the velcro, press hard to get it to attach. Hopefully this fixes the problem.

My new Corbin seat arrived. I have not installed it yet. Also got armrests, passenger and rider backrests. My Premier #707 has shot its wad. :(

There is velcro at both the top and bottom of the inset. If you stretch the vinyl far enough, it may reattach...but this is usually only temporary. The newer seats have wires to hold the vinyl in position. On mine, the vinyl has shrunk, so the velco will no longer reattach. The worst part is that the velcro makes the seam fatter, and it pokes me in the behind.

Every couple of weeks I have to reattach mine,Though right now it seems to be holding well. My BMW had wires holding the seam, and that worked very well.

I'm beginning to feel like the entire PE program was a huge pile of #^%&, from what I can tell all I got from it was being about to say mine was N.0032 off the production line... big Whoop!

I see the 2011 "Limited Edition" has all the extras you would have expected the PE to have.

I for one am feeling a little like the Red-Headed Step Child:gaah:

I phoned customer relations last week and was told that they were going to make the embroidery seat and they would contact dealer when available

My dealer told me a few weeks ago about a service bulletin after he noticed mine was pulling apart and sagging. He said BRP would replace the seat. He said at the time they didn't have a solution to the PE numbers. Dealer told me to wait a while longer to get a replacement .

The SEAT issue still lives

Guess I may of been the first to experience this problem. I've been atempting to get the problem with my PE seat resolved for several months now. Was always told it had been turned over to the engineering dept. and a resolution would be comming. Great to hear (thanks Scotty for the update) that the a final fix is finally in the works. I've tried to be as patient as possible and in fact, BRP offered to replace my seat with a non PE edition on a temp. basis while waiting for a PE seat resolution. I thought that was a nice gesture but declined, not wanting my dealer to have to expend the additional labor for 2 seat swap outs instead of just 1. The problem dosn't seem to bother me from a ridding comfort position but looks terrible. Lamont suggested I take my seat to someone and have them glue it in place but I didn't, and still don't think I should have to pay good money to resolve a warranty issue. Glad I waited.

I still would have glued it months ago and been done with it.

This is what I got from Carlo

I am pleased to confirm that BRP is very close to having new Premiere Edition seats remanufactured for those ones that are being replaced. I would like to recommend that you ask your authorized Can-AmTM SpyderTM dealer to contact our Parts Department in order to order one for your serial number if it is being replaced.
